Frank Lampard opens up and reveals transfer stance on Chelsea offer for Gomes
Frank Lampard insists Chelsea have not made a move to sign Angel Gomes from Manchester United.
Frank Lampard is trying to put together one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League and is looking to add to that talent when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.
There was speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are interested in trying to steal Gomes away from Manchester United in the summer, as the 19-year-old is out of contract with the Red Devils ends today, when he will be free to leave for nothing.
Now it seems that Chelsea have been given the green light to try and complete a deal for the exciting Gomes, after Solskjaer opened up and confirmed that the young man will not be leaving the club when his contract is up.
When asked if Gomes would be leaving the club, Solskjaer responded: “I’ve not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree anything.
“The answer is probably short – yes.”
However, despite all the speculation linking Chelsea with a move for Gomes, Lampard insists Chelsea have not made a move to sign Angel Gomes in the transfer window.
Lampard told the Metro: ‘Yeah, I can elaborate to the point where it’s never been mentioned my end, so that’s it.’
Chelsea only move for the best talents around and if they truly believe that Gomes will add something to the side in the coming seasons, then yes, they will make an offer to take him to the club.
But if they do not believe that he will add something to the side, then they will not pursue the young man into the transfer window.
