Fans will love what Werner has opened up and announced , while Lampard announces ‘he is on a mission’ this season

Timo Werner has revealed that he idolised four Chelsea legends when he was growing up and Frank Lampard is on a mission to bring success back to the club.

After alot of transfer speculation towards the back end of the season last year, it was Chelsea that managed to secure a transfer deal to bring the exciting Werner to Stamford Bridge in a deal that is seen as a real bargain in the long run.

The German may not be firing the goals that fans expected, but Werner, 24, admitted the likes of Didier Drogba, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Petr Cech were an inspiration to him when he was a kid growing up in Stuttgart, Germany.

In an interview with club sponsor Three ,Werner he said: “When you come into the club they are working for the club and when you see them as a child, like 10, and then you see, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard, Petr Cech, you say wow it’s crazy I am here with them now. It’s a lot of fun.”

Meanwhile, boss Frank Lampard has insisted he is on a mission to bring success to Stamford Bridge.

Lampard spent some serious money in the transfer window to build a squad that is very capable of getting back inside the top four spots by the end of the season, although many are hoping that he manages to bring a bit of silverware to the cabinet.

And after a stuttering start to the new season, Lampard has opened up and told fans that he is looking to bring success back to the club, Speaking on the club website, he said: “I’ve completely engulfed my in this job and I want to bring success to this club.

“Coming back to Chelsea and receiving that reception that I did from the fans, you want to bring the supporters that success because they deserve it.

“So that’s what we are all working towards now.”

Look, Werner is brilliant and fans will be happy that he has been looking up to some real legends, as that shows he knows the history of the club.

Lampard needs to deliver as boss or he will get the chop, Roman Abramovic has backed him in the summer window, and now he needs to bring more than success back to the club.
