Frenchman the “perfect” player for Arteta fans told as Arsenal backed to complete transfer signing of Aouar

Julian Laurens has backed Mikel Arteta to get his man and complete the signing of Houssem Aouar before the transfer deadline.

Just a quick update: It is no secret that Arsenal are still in talks to get a transfer deal for Aouar over the line and already submitted a £36 million offer, but the French side are seeking around £54 million to let Aouar leave.

Lyon President Jean-Michael Aulas declared that Arsenal have until tonight to sign Aouar, or a deal will not take place, but French football expert Julien Laurens believes an agreement will be reached before the summer transfer window’s 11pm deadline on Monday.

He thinks the France youth international is the “perfect” player to provide more of a link between midfield and attack for Arsenal: “Paqueta is seen as a replacement for Houssem Aouar, who you would think could be on his way,” Laurens told the ESPN FC Gab and Juls Podcast.

“They’re very different players. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does in France.

“Talks are continuing between Arsenal and Lyon. I think it will happen.

“I think he’s the perfect player that they need and Arteta really wants. But it’s still not there yet.”

There has been so much speculation surrounding the signing of Aouar that Arsenal fans are getting fed up with all the speculation, but if they do get a deal done, then they will be signing a player that has a very big future in the game.

Gunners fans are just hoping that the club have the funds to meet the asking price of Lyon, they have missed out on so many top-class signings this summer.

  1. I have to admit, the possible transfer(s) of Aouar & Partey to Arsenal are becoming boring & drawn out. Nearly as bad as Sancho to Man U. Either get it done or not. Fed up reading different versions saying the same thing.
