Liverpool board told to pay “whatever it takes” to land ‘Incredible’ star

Alan Hutton has urged Liverpool to pay “whatever it takes” to land Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

Lavia is a lad that Liverpool are very much interested in signing this summer as Jurgen Klopp is keen to replace the departing Fabinho and Jordan Henderson – and it has been claimed that personal terms have already been agreed.

However – the deal is not close a LIVERPOOL are not offering the kind of money that Southampton want – and the two clubs cannot agree on what money needs to be paid.

But amid all the speculation – Hutton has opened up and claimed that Liverpool should pay whatever it takes to land Lavia this summer.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Hutton told Football Insider“He’s got two amazing options – Liverpool and Arsenal. It looks like Liverpool are edging ahead in the race and I think they’ll end up paying whatever it takes.

They need someone like Lavia in that midfield.

“He had an amazing season, and I think he makes that midfield stronger with the outgoings they’ve had. But with Arsenal, after spending the money on Declan Rice – I think they’d only go after him if Partey was to leave.

“I think at this moment in time, Liverpool look like the frontrunners – and they need him through the door.”

Stevie Nicol recently claimed that Lavia has the ability ‘to do everything’

“It does seem like a lot of money for a guy with very little experience,” said Nicol.

“However, I am sure they have looked at the stats. I am sure every single man and his dog, connected with LIVERPOOL, has watched this over and over, this guy live and on tape.

“I am sure they have dug into his background. Every single thing about him that will determine whether they go the extra mile and bring him in. At 19, you are talking about another ten years that he could maybe spend at Liverpool, if they think his game can go from where it is now.

“Let’s be honest, a 19-year-old playing in the Premier League, performing the way he did. I know it’s for Southampton, which is a different ball game to going to one of the giants of football.

‘But, as a 19-year-old, the future looks great for him. He can do everything. There’s a rawness to his game. He runs with the ball an awful lot.

“But listen, there was a 19-year-old that went to LIVERPOOL a long time ago, who used to run with the ball a lot and he didn’t end up doing too bad – oh, yeah, that 19-year-old was me,”
