Tuchel asks for Lewandowski – Sterling to be perfect signing – Christensen sends message to fans in Chelsea news of the day…

Andreas Christsensen says it was ‘time to leave the club’ after leaving Chelsea ‘furious’ with his decision to depart

Christensen had agreed terms over a new deal with the club but he left Thomas Tuchel and the board ‘furious’ when he made a u-turn on staying at the club and decided that now was the right time to depart

The Dane is set to join Barcelona on a free transfer on July 1st after deciding against extending his stay in west London and he says he will forever cherish the ten ‘amazing’ years he spent at the club and says it was the right time to depart

‘I had a tough decision to make at the age of 16 to leave Denmark,’ Christensen said in a statement.

‘I met many different clubs but there was only ever one choice for me and that was Chelsea. From the moment I arrived they made me feel at home, I’m grateful to Jim Fraser and Neil Bath who immediately embraced me as part of their family.

‘Some of my proudest moments at the club were when we won FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League. Those were a special group of young players that I was proud to have as teammates.

‘I was fortunate to play under some fantastic managers including [Antonio] Conte, [Jose] Mourinho and now Thomas Tuchel. Last year was my proudest achievement as a player when we lifted the Champions League in Porto.

‘I was a young boy at Chelsea with all the hopes and fears of a player starting his career, I’m grateful to the whole club for making my dream come true.”

‘Having spent ten amazing years at this club, I felt now was the right time for a new beginning for me and my family,” he added. “Mentally the last few months have been tough as it’s not been an easy decision to leave this club and the fans

‘I’m not the most talkative person so sometimes people don’t understand how much the club and the fans mean to me.

“I will miss the players, staff and everyone here. I wish the best for the club and the fans in the future.’

Sterling arrival perfect –

Tony Cascarino believes that Raheem Sterling would be a ‘perfect’ signing for Chelsea this summer if they complete a deal for the attacker

Sterling is a player that has won countless trophies during his time with Man City – has scored 131 goals for the Premier League Champions and is easily one of the best players in the English game

However – as Pep Guardiola looks to shake things up for next season – there are a number of players that the Spaniard is willing to let leave this summer – and Sterling is one of them

And amid all the speculation that Chelsea are closing in on a possible deal for the Englishman – Cascarino has opened up and told the Chelsea board – and the fans – that he would be the perfect signing for the club

Speaking on the Weekend Breakfast, Cascarino said: “I think they’ll do at least two big signings before the start of the season.

“I think that Raheem is perfect for Chelsea, I think that they need that kind of player.

“I love Raheem’s pace. There are so few players who can get to the byline as a wide player. Timo Werner is a terrible finisher, now some people say that Sterling’s finishing is not the greatest but he always gets chances and he always gets a decent number at the end of a season.

“I’m a bit disappointed because I thought that [Christian] Pulisic would be a really good player for Chelsea.

“He’s had too many injuries and has never quite got going. He has his moments but like a lot of the forwards at Chelsea, they’ve not really delivered in the numbers that you’d expect.

“You can put Lukaku in there, Timo Werner, I think that Havertz is not really a centre forward but has been playing that role.

“He’s improving as a player but he’s not the finished article who is going to be leading the line at Chelsea all season.”

Tuchel wants Lewandowski –

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has urged the club to replace Romelu Lukaku with Robert Lewandowski

Lukaku is a player that has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons ever since he completed that shock move back to Stamford Bridge during the last summer transfer window

Big things were expected – many believed that he would drive Chelsea towards that Premier League title – people believed that he would challenge for the Leagues golden boot and nobody could believe just how awful he was

However – he is all set to depart the club over the next few weeks – with Inter Milan the club keen on taking him back to the club – and it seems that Thomas Tuchel wants Lewandowski at the club

And IcFootballnews has learned that Tuchel has encouraged his side to join the race to sign Lewandowski, who is pushing to leave Bayern Munich this summer after failing to agree a new contract with the German champions.

After scoring 50 goals last season and helping the club to their tenth consecutive Bundesliga title – Lewandowski stunned the world by announcing that he wants to leave Bayern this summer transfer window

Bayern are exploring replacement options as they plan for life without the Polish star – but any hope that they could keep him for one more season seems to be disappearing after the striker has again been clear he wants to go elsewhere.

Barcelona is his dream destination – but there is still rumours that Chelsea may be able to get a transfer deal done if the Spaniards cannot offer Lewandowski the kind of deal that he desires

IcFootballnews View…

The whole world is waiting to see if Bayern let him leave or keep him at the club for another year and then let him go

There are not too many strikers that would be ready to replace the great man – but we would love to see him in the Premier League

Chelsea certainly have the money to bring him to the club – but would his heart actually be in it?
