Ligue star admits he would join Man United – Red Devils wants German – £85M transfer message issued to United

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys could have missed –

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has addressed Jamal Musiala’s future during a news conference recently amid all the speculation that Manchester United are a club that are interested in a possible deal for the winger.

Musiala is one of the most dynamic, exciting and talented players in world football and a man that Bayern believe can get them back into the habit of winning that Champions League title.

However – there has been alot of speculation about his long-term future at Bayern Munich and it has  been mentioned on many occasions that a move to the Premier League could happen, and not he has boosted chasing clubs.

Amid speculation over his future, the 21-year-old recently spoke to Sky Germany, saying: “I don’t really have a plan or anything. I don’t try to think too far ahead about where I want to be, because the situation can change from year to year or month to month.

‘I don’t know. I’m open to anything, but I’m very happy where I am now.”

But Eberl emphasized that ongoing discussions with Musiala have been positive, stating, “We talk again and again, and we will continue to talk. I am very confident, things feel very good right now, and something is happening here. Jamal notices that too.

“Jamal is an exceptional player who, alongside Josh [Kimmich] and others, is to become a face of Bayern Munich. We told the player that, with all the respect we have for him. Now we’ll see how we get along. I’m basically an optimist and see no reason why he should leave Bayern Munich.”

As much as we would love to see Musiala make the move to the Premier League and test himself against the best players – we cant see him coming to England anytime soon.

At this stage of his career – he is happy at Bayern – he does not want to leave – he has a massive contract and is one of the clubs biggest players, so despite all the rumours and all the links with a move away – it will not happen.

GOMES OPEN TO RETURN –

Lille midfielder Angel Gomes has opened the door to reuniting with Manchester United in the near future after revealing that he could find it very hard to turn down a move back to the Premier League giants.

The Englishman graduated through the youth system at the Red Devils, but he walked away on a free transfer in 2020 to secure regular minutes, and Gomes has turned into a key player for Lille in the French top-flight.

The 24-year-old has entered the last year of his contract at the club and he has no plans of penning an extension beyond next summer, and he could leave the club when the transfer window reopens.

Les Dogues are likely to focus on his exit this winter and Gomes has said that he would not say no if United attempt to re-sign him – He told The Times: “There’ll always be that sentimental soft spot, so of course it’d be difficult to say no.

“As amazing as it would be, after finding happiness abroad I know [playing in the Premier League] is not the be-all and end-all.”

Look, the lad should stay where he is – he has become a big part of that Lille side so leaving may not be the best thing for his career in the long-run.

He might have options to choose from – he could come back to the Premier League – but at the end of the day – he may struggle to get the minutes he has been over in the French League and that is why he should stay put.

If he went back to Manchester United he would be walking back into that bench.

UNITED WANTS TUCHEL –

Manchester United reportedly have their sights set on former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, ahead of imminent crunch talks with under-fire coach Erik ten Hag, according to Manchester Evening News.

Questions continue to be asked of Ten Hag’s ongoing presence at Old Trafford following a hugely disappointing start to the 2024-25 campaign.

Sky Sports reported Tuchel was on the shortlist to succeed Ten Hag in the summer when new co-owners INEOS were deciding whether to depart with their manager, before ultimately opting to keep faith in the Dutchman.

However, United have won only three of 11 games this season, sit 14th in the Premier League table and have scored only five goals in seven league matches, the second lowest tally in the division.

According to the MEN, Manchester United are also interested in a number of candidates – but Tuchel holds an extra attraction as he is currently out of work.

The INEOS hierarchy are set for a meeting on Tuesday as they decide their next move, with Man Utd’s next game not until October 19 because of the international break.

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes Ten Hag will continue to face criticism until results improve.

“I think the criticism will continue to grow because United need to win to get the points,” Berbatov told Sky Sports.

“They are 14th in the table, which is unbelievable. The only thing to correct it is getting the points, but with the way they are playing at the moment that will be hard.”
