£80,000-a-week star ‘is working hard’ to secure move to West Ham
Jesse Lingard appears to be getting closer to securing a contract at West Ham this summer.
Lingard was the subject of intense transfer speculation last summer over the course of the transfer window after news broke that he would not be signing a new contract with Manchester United
That allowed WEST HAM to move to the front of the que to try and sign the player – if you believed all the reports – as it seemed that Lingard was very much open to making a permanent move to London Stadium
West Ham made an offer to the 29-year-old’s representatives, just days before his Old Trafford terms ran out – But the two parties were unable to come to an agreement and just two weeks before the start of the season, Lingard signed for Forest on a contract worth £80,000 per-week.
However – the move to Forest didnt work out like Lingard had hoped for and is now keen to make a move to London Stadium, after making the wrong decision last summer.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED –
Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, ExWHUEmployee has stated that the player is working hard to secure the return to east London.
“Lingard is still training with the club and as he’s a free agent, he doesn’t need to sign before the deadline,” said our Podcast co-host and club insider.
“The feeling is that he will therefore train during the international break after the Luton match, with that seen as the time to prove fitness and earn a deal with the club. “He’s made it very clear that he wants the move and regrets the decision to move to Nottingham Forest.
‘He wants to end his career with a positive relationship with West Ham and the fans. A deal is expected to a short term contract which is heavily incentive based.”

Lingard should have made the move to West Ham in the summer and not Forest – so this would be a very smart move for WEST HAM to make as Lingard would add some more depth to the squad.
