Brighton will not stand in way of White completing move to Liverpool, for £50 million in January
Brighton would demand at least £50m for Ben White if Liverpool come calling in January, according to The Sun.
Liverpool did not do much transfer business over the summer window as Jurgen Klopp felt that he did not need to add much quality to his squad in the transfer window, but that has come back to bit him in the arse.
His star defender Virgil Van Dijk picked up a serious injury which will keep him out for many months, and Klopp may need to delve into that transfer kitty and try to acquire a player to replace the Dutchman.
Fabinho is a solid replacement, but the likes of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip are not that reliable and consistently pick up injuries which leave Liverpool short at the back, and that cannot happen with Van Dijk out of action.
That has led to some speculation in the media that Liverpool will reignite their interest in trying to sign the highly-rated White, who they were linked with in the transfer window, but a move was never made
He ha made an impressive start to life back at Brighton and his performances show that he is ready to make that step up to a big club, and reports on the sun website have claimed Brighton would not stand in the way of White moving to a big-six club, but only if the offer received was substantial.
It is claimed that £50 million would be enough to tempt them into selling, although Liverpool reportedly value him closer to £35 million.
