Liverpool have been handed a blow in their pursuit of Fiorentina and Morrocan midfield star Sofyan Amrabat, after the club’s CEO Joe Barone highlighted that both he and Nico Gonzalez are not for sale.

Fabinho has been a player that Jurgen Klopp has been able to rely on ever since he was brought to the club just a few seasons ago – and he is a player that does his job perfectly.

However – he has not had the start to the new season that Klopp, the club or the fans would like – and there has been alot of speculation that Liverpool are open to letting him leave in the January window.

Klopp wants to add a couple of midfielders to the side but knows that he may need to sell first – and with the contract of Fabinho running out in 2026 – he is a player they could get some good money for.

And that has led to much speculation in the media that Amarabat is a player that Liverpool could look to replace the Brazilian.

The midfielder plays his club football for Italian side Fiorentina, where he has made 78 appearances since joining them in 2020 – but it is his performances at the World Cup that has opened the door to a possible move to Anfield

However – if you believe the words of Romano – he will not be going anywhere anytime soon – he Tweeted: ‘Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone: “I can now confirm that Sofyan Amrabat and Nico González are not for sale”,

#transfers “The president Commisso already said that — I can confirm the same for both González and Amrabat”.
