Arsenal and Liverpool told £100 million rated Barcelona star Coutinho to be sold this summer!
Shaka Hislop has told the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool that Philippe Coutinho will be sold by Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
The Brazilian has not made the impact that many expected since his move from Liverpool, and reports in the Spanish press have claimed that he could be sold at the end of the season, especially after the Champions League semi-final loss to the Reds.
That has led to speculation that Arsenal boss Unai Emery may try and make an ambitious move to sign the Brazilian star at the end of the season, especially if they manage to get back inside the Champions League.
Emery knows he needs to add some more ‘world class’ players to his squad, and if he has the backing of the board, will look to complete deals for players like Coutinho.
Liverpool have also been linked with a shock move, as reports have suggested that Jurgen Klopp would be open to bringing the former star back, to add a bit more quality to his attack.
And now Hislop has admitted that Coutinho will be sold by Barcelona in the summer window.
Hislop said on the ESPN website:: “I’m going to say [it will be]: ‘Philippe it’s been nice but it’s just not worked out’.
“I thought Philippe Coutinho hit the ground running after that move from Liverpool to Barcelona. But then the injury and he never could seem to get back in stride with the rest of the Barcelona team.
“I think you’ve seen that over the last two games against Liverpool in particular. I thought he didn’t contribute anywhere near enough in a circumstance where you would expect a whole lot more going back to his former club.
“If I’m sitting in the Barcelona board, I’ve ran out of patience with Philippe Coutinho.”
Coutinho may not be having the best of seasons at Barcelona, but that could be a good thing for the Premier league giants as the Spaniards will surely be open to letting the Brazilian leave the club for a bargain fee.
They paid Liverpool £142 million to secure a deal, but could be willing to let him leave for just £65 million, which is a bargain for the type of player Coutinho is.
He is world class and would be a welcome addition to the Premier League once again.
