Liverpool can sign Italian for £68M – Reds determined to sign £50M Spaniard – Brazilian says goodbye

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed –

Liverpool have confirmed that Fabinho has left the summer and made the move to Saudi Arabia club Al Ittihad

The Brazil international midfielder has signed a contract until 2026 and will link up with former Chelsea player N’Golo Kante after he also left the Premier League.

Al Ittihad have brought in ex-Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema too as well as Celtic star Jota as Saudi teams continue to splash the cash in the transfer window.

During his time at Anfield, Fabinho helped LIVERPOOL win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Liverpool posted: ‘The midfielder passed 200 appearances for Liverpool during the most recent season and now bids farewell to the club with the move to Al-Ittihad.

‘Everyone at Liverpool FC would like to thank Fabinho for all of his contributions to the club’s successes during the last five years.’

The Saudi club announced the deal on Monday evening with a video captioned ‘Tigers are allowed to pass’, before official club pictures of the player followed, along with the caption: “Welcome Fabinho in the stronghold of the tigers”.

Fabinho posted an emotional farewell to Liverpool on social media. He wrote: “Today I leave my home. It’s been five years wearing this jersey and always with the greatest honor and happiness possible.

Since day one at Liverpool, I’ve been embraced by everyone. What I saw inside this club, the relationship between the people there, made me feel like family. In these five years, I grew as a player, as a man, I made dreams come true… With that jersey, I won every title a player can dream of.

‘Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup.

“I say this with a heart full of joy: I love this club. Thank you, Reds, for everything we’ve experienced together. You will never walk alone.”

It has been claimed that Inter Milan are ready to sell Nicolas Barella to Liverpool if they offer the right amount of money.

Liverpool had one of the their worst seasons under Jurgen Klopp and have been working hard on improving the side over the past few weeks of the transfer window.

That has led to so many transfer reports in the media lining the Reds with a number of possible targets – and now LIVERPOOL have been named as one of three Premier League clubs looking to sign Inter ace Nicolo Barella, with reports in Italy claiming that the Reds are prepared to make an offer.

It is said that while Nerazzurri boss Simone Inzaghi remains a fan of Barella, financial issues at the club may leave Inter open to a sale, and while a Champions League club is thought to appeal to Barella, the Reds are seen as a positive destination for the Italy star this summer.

Italian publication, Claim Barella would no longer be consider “non-transferable” and if Liverpool meet the asking price for the gifted winger, he will be allowed to leave the club

He scored 9 goals and got 10 assists last season, which is more than Liverpool’s midfielders managed collectively.

Barella is a very good player that would add something different to the squad, so if a move is actually made by LIVERPOOL, it would be a good one.

And for £68 million, in todays market, that is not alot of money to pay for a player that has already proven himself at the top of the game, it could be seen as a real bargain.

Liverpool have a few more weeks to get deals done and Barella would be a good addition to the side if they get him.

It has been claimed that Liverpool are prepared to pay £50 million in order to sign Andreas Christensen from Barcelona, and he could be a great signing for the club.

The Reds have already welcomed two new players this summer, upgrading their midfield by signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai

Defence is now arguably Jurgen Klopp’s priority, as that LIVERPOOL back-line was one of the worst of the big Premier League clubs and conceded far too many goals on a weekly basis.

Alongside Virgil van Dijk, both Joel Matip and Joe Gomez have proved to be injury-prone, Ibrahima Konate has also struggled to keep fit, while Nat Phillips is another option for Klopp, but Christensen would jump right up the pecking order should he sign.

As per Sport, a new centre-back is being pursued after a ‘personal request by Klopp’,and Christensen is a man that the German would like to sign.

Christensen previously enjoyed a stellar spell with Chelsea in the Premier League. He played 161 times for the Blues, and he helped them win the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup, but fancied a move to Barcelona.

However – he is being linked with a return to the Premier League ahead of next season as the Spaniards look to raise some late funds in order to add to their squad in the remaining weeks of the window.

Chelsea did not want to lose Christensen when he chose to leave for Barcelona – he was a player that they had big hopes for – but he wanted the move to La Liga.

Barcelona may be open to letting the defender going for the right price – but they are not desperate and unless Liverpool offers something crazy – this is a player that will not make the move.

He really is a classy defender that has the ability to be the perfect partner for Van Dijk – we are not sure that a move will happen, and we are shocked to see that LIVERPOOL are ready with that £50 million.
