Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today…
Negotiations between Napoli and star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have hit a standstill, with significant differences in salary expectations, as rumours swirl that LIVERPOOL are eyeing up a move for the attacker to replace Mohamed Salah.
Kvaratskhelia is a player that all the big clubs have been linked with over the past few seasons and is a man that has been heavily tipped to leave Napoli in the next few windows if his £87 million asking price is met.
Chelsea were heavily linked with the player during the summer window, but in the end, the attacker made the decision to stay put and wait for the right club to come in and make that next step up with.
What Is The Latest?
Salah is one of the best players in world football and a man that is one of the greatest stars in the history of Liverpool, but as he comes towards the end of his playing days, his contract is running down and he is likely to leave.
There has been alot of players linked with a move to Anfield, but over the past few days there has been some claims that Liverpool could make a move for Kvaratskhelia as a replacement for Mo Salah.
Now Liverpool have been handed a real boost according to Calciomercato as Negotiations between Napoli and star winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia have hit a standstill,
The reports says that the Georgian international’s representatives are seeking a raise to €8 million per season, while Napoli remain firm at €5 million.
mid all the speculation pundit Danny Murphy has encouraged the Reds to make a move for Kvaratskhelia – Speaking to Boylesports, who offer the latest Champions League odds, Danny Murphy said: “On potential Mohamed Salah replacements, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a really good player, similar to Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo in running with the ball with his athleticism and his ability to make things happen, but he’s not prolific.
‘He’s not a goal threat for entire games. I’ve seen him play live a couple of times, I was at the Euros, I’ve watched him a lot. He’s a terrific talent, but he’s similar to what LIVERPOOL have got in some respects.’
ALEXANDER-ARNOLD CLOSERT O EXIT
LIVERPOOL have been doing alot of business over the last couple of transfer windows adding players to the side that will help get the club challenging for titles once again, but they are also keen to keep hold of some of their biggest players.
Alexander-Arnold has been criticized for many of his defensive displays during his time at the club , but that doesnt hide the fact that he is still one of the very best players in his position.
The England star has been the subject of much speculation amid rumours of a new contract at Anfield and interest from Real Madrid and now it seems that he is edging closer to an exit from Liverpool if you believe the latest reports in the media.
According to The Sun, Alexander-Arnold remains far from agreeing on a new deal. The report further adds that the club are unwilling to pay the full-back more than Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, who currently earn £350,000 and £220,000, respectively.
Pundit Tim Sherwood recently opened up and claimed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool – he told Betfred: “Yes, absolutely. They’d have been having talks that we’re not aware of for sure because you can’t allow players to get so far into their contract when they’re so valuable.
‘It would be a complete head loss to let him go for free. Nobody wants to see him leave, but you may as well cash in because they know something’s going on already. I don’t know if Trent wants to leave or the club are happy for him to leave, but it would be stupid for Liverpool to not cash in if he is going to leave when his contract expires.”
He added: “You never want to lose your best players, but I don’t know if it would make much of a difference to LIVERPOOL if he leaves in January or at the end of the season if he was planning to leave the club.
‘It would have an impact overall because you never want to see your best players go and you don’t want to let them go.’
VAN DIJK DEAL WILL BE DONE
Liverpool will manage to wrap up a deal for world class defender Virgil Van Dijk, it has been claimed in the media this weekend.
At the very beginning of last summer window, LIVERPOOL lost Jurgen Klopp and quickly replaced him with Dutchman Arne Slot, who has a big reputation in the game of football.
That also led to all sorts of speculation and rumours in the media that Slot would be backed by the board and will be able to sign a number of players to help him play the kind of football that he likes in the next couple of transfer windows,
However – the club have not yet been able to agree a new deal with one of their star players as The Dutch centre-back’s current deal expires next summer, and there has been alot of speculation that he could leave the club.
Now, speaking on Football Insider, transfer expert, Mike Brown, has made a promising claim and says that the 33-year-old will definitely sign an extension with the Merseysiders.
