Top-class midfielder ‘ideal replacement’ for Fabinho at Liverpool – Klopp told
West Ham star Declan Rice would be an ideal long-term replacement for Fabinho at Liverpool – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed.
Over the past few seasons – Declan Rice has developed into one of the best central midfielders in the game and a man that is tipped to leave for one of the big clubs.
So far West Ham have been able to keep hold of their star man as he has a nice long contract – but as he comes towards the end of that deal – there is more and more speculation about his long-term future.
This World Cup has shown that he is ready to play for a big club – and amid all the speculation that Liverpool is keen on the man – he has admitted that he has dreams of a big move.
Emmanuel Petit, a Premier League and World Cup winning midfielder, has recently urged Rice to follow his dreams, telling Midnite: ‘Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are among the best [midfield duo] in the world for sure.
‘They are very important to the way that England play. I also really like Casemiro and Lucas Pacqueta [for Brazil].
‘You could also talk about Rice’s future too. I’m sorry West Ham fans, but Declan Rice needs to leave. If he wants to improve, he needs to be playing in the Champions League.
‘I know he loves West Ham and he’s dedicated to them, but he has to ask himself the question because West Ham are struggling, and he needs to be playing with the top players every single weekend.’
Now – if you believe the words of Reporter Stanley – he is the ideal man to replace the ageing Fabinho – he told icfootballnews: ‘Fabinho has been world class for Liverpool for many seasons now.
‘There is no indication that he is slowing down – and does still do a fantastic job in the centre of that midfield.
‘But he is not in his thirties and Klopp needs to start looking into the future – and Rice could be that man.
‘He protects that back-line at West Ham and allows the attackers to play the kind of football that they enjoy – just what Fabinho does over at Liverpool.
‘He is ready for that next step and quite honestly – working under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp would massively improve his game.
‘He is certainly a player that suits the way that Liverpool like to play.’
