Liverpool free to sign £50M ace – Klopp hoping to sign midfielder this week – Reds target put up for sale
Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
It has been claimed that Liverpool will now push ahead with trying to sign Kylian Mbappe after he was put on the transfer market by PSG.
Mbappe has been in the transfer headlines all summer after he came out and revealed that he has no plans to agree a new contract at the club – and will leave when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
PSG only want players on the tour who are committed to the club and want to be at the club, and have now made the decision to get some money for the Frenchman rather than lose him for nothing.
Mbappe has not been included in the squad to Japan and South Korea, which departs tomorrow.
PSG are convinced Mbappe has already agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer, but with the Spaniards unable to compete in the transfer market this summer, LIVERPOOL will have a chance to get a transfer deal done.
It is no secret that Mbappe is a fan of Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp and is a player that the German boss would very much like to bring to the club.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed that the highest bidder will win the race for Mbappe,
“Paris Saint-Germain will now do whatever they can to sell Kylian Mbappe to the highest bidder.
“There is zero emotion now as far as PSG are concerned. It’s just business now. It’s transactional and they don’t care where he goes.
“They will happily do business with Real Madrid or anyone else who pays up and they have no issues about dealing with Saudi clubs.
“They already had multiple expressions of interest before the player was put for sale tonight.”
SHOULD LIVERPOOL MAKE THE MOVE?
There are alot of reasons why Mbappe would be a great signing for Liverpool – they play the kind of football that he enjoys, hus style suits the club and he would be a statement signing.
LIVERPOOL FREE TO SIGN PALHINHA –
It has been claimed that LIVERPOOL now have a free run at trying to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham after Chelsea pulled out of the race.
With the news that both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have both decided to leave the club and make the mega offer move to Saudi Arabia – Klopp is eager to find an immediate replacement.
Palhinha had an amazing season for Fulham last year and has seen his market value rocket after some brilliant performances, and is now valued at £50 million, alot more than the £20 million Fulham paid just last season.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
According to reports on the Sun – LIVERPOOL have now made their moves to try and get a deal done for the impressive Palhinha – but Fulham would only consider offers in excess of £50m for Joao Palhinha.
Chelsea were also reported to be interested in the 27-year-old’s signature after an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League, but talkSPORT have reported that Chelsea have ‘refused’ to join the transfer race for the 28-year-old.
Mauricio Pochettino has cranked up the pressure on co-owner Todd Boehly with a fresh transfer demand but seems to have ruled out a move for Palhinha.
The reports adds that they believe the Portuguese midfielder is too old, and That will be music to the ears of Liverpool fans as the midfielder seems the perfect replacement for Fabinho
With attacking midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominic Szoboszla already signed, defensive-minded player Palhinha will add some balance and scored three Premier League goals last season.
WOULD HE BE A GOOD SIGNING?
Look, he was solid for Fulham last season – but at 28-years of age – if he really was good enough for LIVERPOOL – he would have been at a big club by now.
In that Fulham side he was a big fish – if he joined Liverpool he may struggle to get into the side.
But if Klopp really wants him – we are sure he will get a deal done
LAVIA TIMELINE
Liverpool are hopeful they can complete a deal for Romeo Lavia by the end of the month, according to Football Insider.
Henderson and Fabinho are both heading out of the club this summer window – with a mega money move to Saudi Arabia both on the cards for the players, with Henderson looking to get £700k-a-week.
That has led to much speculation about who LIVERPOOL will sign – with both Romeo Lavia a player that has been linked with a move to Anfield in recent weeks.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Liverpool have been consistently involved in the conversation when it comes to the transfer speculation surrounding the 19-year-old Belgian.
And Football Insider say it is believed that Jurgen Klopp is hoping that he is able to complete the signing of Lavia by the end of the month – so he has plenty of time to work with the lad ahead of the new season.
Amid all the speculation – Luis Enrique has told Grosvenor Sport: “I think it will be a mistake for Liverpool to let Henderson go and they need to rebuild. It all depends on the back-up options they are going to sign if Fabinho and Henderson leave.
‘Who they bring in will determine whether or not it is a mistake to let them go and it will be interesting to see if they go with Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott, I love them but they are too young to get Liverpool competing for trophies again. But if they go into the market they have to make sure they get the right replacements.
“I believe they need another player there anyway because Stefan Bajcetic is just coming back from injury and we’ll have to see how he does. I love him as a player but after a big injury you don’t know if he is going to be the same, hopefully he is, but they definitely need another player there.
‘I love Romeo Lavia from Southampton. It depends on the fee but I love him because he’s a Liverpool kind of signing; he’s a 19-year-old, very young but already has lots of experience.
