Liverpool green light sign attacker, Midfielder confirms he wants to be Liverpool player, Reds target ‘will leave’ club

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today…

Harvey Elliott has dismissed rumours he’s leaving LIVERPOOL this January window amid speculation that he is one player that boss Arne Slot is ready to let leave for £40 million.

When Arne Slot came to the club during the summer window, nobody could have believed the impact that he would make in his opening few months as boss of the Reds, as they are top of the Premier League and Champions League tables.

The Dutchman has many of the players that Jurgen Klopp had at Anfield, he has not been able to get the stars that he would like to help take his side to that next level, as the club needs some transfer funds.

Liverpool forked out £4.3m to bring Elliott to Anfield from Fulham after a ruling by a tribunal, and they are now reportedly open to the idea of letting the attacker leave the club at the end of the transfer window or end of the season.

But even though the winger hasn’t played as much as he has liked to for the Reds this campaign, Elliott has opened up and claimed that he has no intention of leaving Liverpool and wants to fight for his place in the team.

“Liverpool is my club. Liverpool is my team. I want to fight for my place, fight for my position in the team,” he told the Mail.

“It’s down to me to put in the effort, the hard work, the desire, to make that achievement. I am not going to give up, I am going to keep fighting.”

Slot has a very good squad to work with this season and to be honest, we would be shocked to see any players leave the club as they have all had a big impact in results this season.

But if he is happy with his role in the side, then there is no need to leave, he is getting everything he wants at LIVERPOOL

GITTENS WILL LEAVE DORTMUND

Long-standing LIVERPOOL target Jamie Gittens will leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer if the club do not qualify for the Champions League, it has been claimed in the media over the past few days.

Liverpool have had a great opening few months of the season and looking like the side that will push on to win that Premier League title, which is a shock as many had Man City and Arsenal favourites to lift that title.

But there is always room for growth at LIVERPOOL – and that means the club will continue to seek players that will come in, sign massive contracts and hopefully develop into the stars of the future, and now the Reds have their eyes on their next transfer target,

While no decisions have been made about his immediate future, LIVERPOOL is said to have expressed a concrete interest in getting a potential deal done for Gittens at the end of the current season, but could face the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea for the lads signature.

Dortmund currently sit 10th in the Bundesliga and currently seven points behind the Champions League places, and according to reports on BILD, Gittens has told the club that he will leave the side at the end of the season if they not achieve Champions League football.

The report adds that Gittens wants to be competing against the very best clubs on a weekly basis, and challenging for trophies.

However – amid the speculation – reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that it is not the right time for the lad to leave Dortmund, he told icfootballnews: ‘Gittens is showing the kind of potential that will take him far in the game, he is a real star of the future.

However, despite the fact the Premier League is the dream destination for alot of young stars, despite the fact he would get a massive wage from coming to England and despite the fact he could join one of the big boys, he is not ready.’

LIVERPOOL FREE SIGN CHERKI

LIVERPOOL have the chance to sign Lyon winger Rayan Cherki for a cut-price fee in the January transfer window, according to reports as his current side are willing to let the attacker leave.

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best attacking midfielders in France, scoring six goals and registering seven assists in 22 appearances for Lyon so far this season, and he is reportedly a player that Liverpool have been very interested in signing for the last few years,

Lyon’s precarious financial situation means that the French club have been banned from making any new signings in the January transfer window, and according to Sky Germany, Lyon have a verbal agreement in place with Cherki where the club would allow him to leave if they receive an offer worth €22.5m (£19m).

PSG, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are also interested in a possible move for the winger.

What we have seen from that board in the last couple of windows, is that if Liverpool want a player, they will pay whatever it takes to get a transfer deal done and sign the stars the club needs.

Cherki is a real talent guys, he could be a brilliant addition to that Liverpool squad if they reignite their interest in the winter window, which we believe will happen as they want to keep on improving the side.

For the money that is being talked about, the lad is certainly a player that Arne Slot would love to have in the side and a player that could develop into a class act. But there are a few other clubs that are probably willing to offer far more money.

PSG wanted Cherki in the summer and are ready to offer big money, so if Liverpool do really want the lad, they will have to fend off interest from the Ligue 1 Champions.
