Liverpool ‘have held meetings’ to sign up Frenchman Rabiot

Reports have claimed Liverpool ‘have held meetings’ with PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot about a possible move to Anfield.

Rabiot is one of the most gifted and talented players at PSG, but has been unable to agree new terms that will keep him at the club for the foreseeable future, with reports in the media claiming he is demanding far more than what PSG are prepared to offer.

His contract situation has led to speculation that he will leave the club in the coming transfer windows, with Liverpool just one of a number of top clubs that are reportedly keen on trying to nail down his signature.

And now French newspaper L’Equipe say there have been ‘several meetings’ over Rabiot potentially heading to Anfield although it is unclear if the Reds have contacted the player’s camp or PSG directly.

PSG sporting director Antero Henrique recently confirmed that Rabiot will not be staying beyond this season, he told Yahoo France: “At this point, no. It was a decision made by the club following a meeting I had with the player.

“The player informed me that he would not sign a contract and that he wanted to leave the club by being free at the end of the season, i.e. at the end of his contract. For the player, this will have a very clear consequence: he will remain on the bench for an indefinite period.”

Could Rabiot be a decent signing for Liverpool?

Rabiot has bags of potential and the right kind of quality to make the move to Liverpool and certainly would add a bit moe creativity and quality to the Anfield midfield.

His passing game is top notch, he has the ability to pick a pass and also has the quality to play the game at his own pace, and PSG will be losing a very exiting talent.
