Liverpool icon tips Man United to sign £40 million valued England International
LIVERPOOL legend Robbie Fowler has tipped Man United to sign two Premier League stars this summer.
Man United made the big decision to allow David De Gea to leave the club this summer window – after they failed to agree a new contract with the long-serving Spanish star.
That means that United will be keen to sign a stopper to replace De Gea this summer – and there has already been alot of talk that Inter Milan star Andre Onana could be on his way to the Premier League in a deal worth £50 million.
However – amid all the speculation – Fowler has tipped Man United to sign a Premier League star this summer.
WHAT HAS HE SAID –
‘I see Manchester United have been strongly linked with Inter’s Andre Onana, and that makes sense because his distribution is sensational, and he played for Ten Hag at Ajax,’ the ex-England striker told the Daily Mirror.
‘But don’t rule out Jordan Pickford. I know he only signed a new contract last February, but to me that makes it more rather than less likely he’ll move this summer. I can almost guarantee he had a release clause inserted in that contract.
‘Pickford only had just over a year left when he signed the new deal, and he’s one of the best in the world, the recognised number one for one of the best international teams in the world. He’s handy on the ball too”
WOULD PICKFORD BE A GOOD SIGNING?
Pickford is a very good shot stopper – he has been decent for a while and is arguably one of the best in the Premier League – but there is something missing and that is why he is not playing for a big club already.
If Man United sign Onana – he is prone to mistakes but world class – if they sign Pickford – he will be a solid addition to the side.
