Reds board told Ligue 1 goal machine ‘will be good fit’ for Liverpool

LIVERPOOL icon Emile Heskey believes Jonathan David will play his way into the Reds transfer plans, amid the many reports that he is one player that Arsenal are also interested in signing.

The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal over the past few months, as the Gunners will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack in the next couple of transfer windows

Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two other players that Arsenal are reportedly interested in – but David would represent a cheaper alternative to the other two as his contract is coming to an end at the end of the season and many clubs are reportedly interested.

However – amid all the speculation and the rumours, Heskey has come out and claimed that he could could be a great signing for Liverpool if the Reds made the decision to open talks and bring him to Anfield – He told Casino Scout:

“Lille’s Jonathan David has been linked with Liverpool and I could see him being a good fit up top, so we’ll have to see what kind of performance he’ll put in in tonight’s game.

“If were the recruitment team as Liverpool, I’d definitely be bringing in a young striker, someone who has scope to grow as a player within the club.

“You never know whether young players will take a bit of time to settle, or if they’ll hit the ground running like Erling Haaland did at Manchester City. I don’t think Liverpool need to look at anyone in their ‘prime’.”

LIVERPOOL have all the quality in the world in that attack right now, they are scoring goals for fun and it is hard to see what players can be signed that will improve the side.

David is a quality striker, but we cant see him being more than a squad member at Liverpool under Arne Slot if a move is made by the Reds
