Liverpool and Manchester United target Coutinho opens up amid exit talk
Manchester United target Philippe Coutinho lifts the lid on his form at Barcelona amid Liverpool links
The Brazilian, who moved to the Nou Camp from Anfield for £142million in January 2018, has struggled to settle in with his current club.
And that has led to a lot of transfer speculation in the media which have suggested that he is heading back to the Premier League in the next couple of months with both United and Liverpool linked with a move.
It is believed that Barcelona are open to the idea of letting the midfielder leave the club for the right price, believed to be around £100 million, and the Brazilian has opened up on his form amid the speculation surrounding his future.
Speaking to Marca, Coutinho said: “I have not had a good season. My performances have been a lot worse than I expected they would.
“The only way to improve and gain confidence is through hard work, and I have been working hard.”
There is no doubt that Coutinho is one of the best players in La Liga right now and it is a shock to see that he has failed to adapt to life at Barcelona.
So if there is a chance to bring him back to the Premier League for far less then what Barcelona paid for his services, then Jurgen Klopp or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should try and make a move.
Coutinho is just the type of player that will help take United and Liverpool to that next stage and take the title away from Champions Manchester City.
He may want to stay at Barca, but the right offer from the Premier League will mean that a summer exit will happen in the coming weeks.
However, Liverpool fans may not want to see him make that move back to Anfield and Coutinho may feel a move to Old Trafford would bring too much hassle, especially with the rivalry between the two clubs still very intense.
So if he was to make that move back to England, it could be with Chelsea or Manchester City.
