Anfield or Old Trafford as Liverpool and Man United target James heading to Premier League for bargain?
Reports have claimed Liverpool and Manchester United target James Rodriguez could be set for a move to the Premier League.
James has been in the transfer headlines over the past few months after reports emerged which suggested that the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all interested in bringing the £63 million rated midfielder to the Premier League.
The Colombia international’s two-year loan spell from Real Madrid is coming to an end, and despite Bayern having the option of signing the playmaker for £50million, Rodriguez has told his agent Jorge Mendes that he is ready to discuss a new challenge.
And according to Sky Germany, The Premier League giants could now be ready to make a move and try to seek a bargain £35 million deal to bring him to England, after he reportedly decided to leave Bayern.
The reports suggest James is not willing to play a bit-part role at parent clubs Real Madrid next season and is eyeing up a move to England, especially with the Bundesliga champions appear unlikely to trigger a £37m option to buy the 27-year-old.
It is believed that Madrid are even willing to let the superstar leave the club for just £37 million this summer as boss Zinedine Zidane is seeking to revamp the squad ahead of next season.
It is no secret that both United and Liverpool will be delving into their transfer kitty this summer to improve on their respective squads, and a move for players like James will be high up on the agenda.
He is just the type of big named player that would help take their attacks to that next level and for the £35 million that he could be going for, it would be an absolute bargain they could both not miss out on.
However, his massive £400,000-a-week wages may be a problem as even United and Liverpool are reportedly not prepared to pay him such a high wage. So it will be an interesting watch to see just where he ends up in the coming months.
