Manchester United issued £120 million boost after Barnes sends transfer message to Liverpool board

John Barnes cannot see Liverpool launching a raid on Tottenham for Harry Kane, which will be a boost for the likes of Manchester United.

Kane is a man that will be in demand over the transfer window after news broke just a few weeks ago that he has told the Spurs board that he wants to leave in order to win a few trophies before the end of his career.

That has led to alot of speculation that the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all ready to offer him a contract to stay in the Premier League, especially as they are all seeking a striker just like him.

Reinforcements in the final third at Anfield have been mooted, with plenty suggesting that the time has come to freshen up a unit that has been so dependent on Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

However, Barnes – speaking in association with BonusCodeBets – believes Klopp will steer clear of the scramble for Spurs star Kane, telling Goal : “Liverpool don’t need to buy a striker this summer. They have players who will score plenty of goals already.

“Everyone wants Harry Kane, if he is available and teams need a player like him, but this isn’t someone that Liverpool need so he won’t necessarily be on their radar.”

There is not a manager out there that wouldnt love to have Kane in the squad, so if there is a chance to get the striker all signed up, the Reds would be foolish not to make a move.

But if Liverpool fc listen to Barnes, then it will be great news for United, as it will mean that they have one less club to compete with in the transfer window.
