Jurgen Klopp told he will not get Koulibaly transfer discount in January window
Liverpool will get no discount on Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in January, Jurgen Klopp has been told.
It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp made a transfer mistake over the summer to not spend the money and sign a new defender that would come in and add some much needed depth to that back-line.
The injuries to Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez, who have been the preferred option at back for Klopp, is a massive concern for the club while Joel Matip cannot simply stay fit enough to make that spot his own.
That has led to alot of speculation in the media that that Klopp will need to spend in the transfer window in order to add a new defender to the back-line, and he has been linked with a move for Koulibaly over the last few weeks.
Koulibaly is one of the best central defenders in the game right now and the man that has been touted as the ideal partner for Van Dijk at the back, but he will be on the market for £63 million in the next window.
Italian publication Area Napoli claims that there would be no discount on offer, as President Aurelio De Laurentiis is said to be unwavering in his £63million valuation having rebuffed bids from Man City and Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool do make a move for Koulibaly because they had the opportunity to sign the powerhouse in the summer window, and they did not take it then.
Will Klopp want to spend £63 million on a player that is not proven in the Premier League?
