Liverpool open transfer talks to sign £30 million Italian Toneli
Reports have claimed Liverpool have opened talks to sign 18-year-old midfielder Sandro Tonali from Brescia.
Liverpool, who are now favourites to win the Premier League this season, have been eyeing up a number of possible transfer deals this month to come in and add a bit more strength in depth to the side, as there ius plenty more games to go before the end of the season.
And the latest player to be linked with a move to Anfield is young Toneli, who is regarded as one of Italy’s finest talents and has already established himself as a regular starter for Serie B side Brescia.
Many reports in Italy have even suggested that he could be the next Andrea Pirlo, who is regarded as one of the finest players to ever grace the game, with his contolling of games and brilliance on the ball second to none.
Now reports on the Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpoool have opened talks with Brescia about a possible transfer deal and are considering paying £30 million in the summer for the young Italian.
Brescia owner Massimo Cellino recently admitted Liverpool had enquired about 18-year-old midfielder, telling Il Corriere dello Sport: ‘Roma have made a request for Tonali, I’ve had many meetings with (Roma chief Mauro) Baldissoni but I want to retain the player for long time.
‘As much time as possible. He’s just 18 and and I’ve been contacted by Liverpool too.’
Would Liverpool be a good move for Toneli?
Right now there is no better boss to work under in the Premier League than Jurgen Klopp, as the German loves to give youngsters a chance to prove themselves at the Anfield club.
So if Toneli did decide to make the move to the Premier League to work under Klopp, then it would not hinder his development as he would be given enough game time to develop and then eventually shine.
