Liverpool have been backed to add a quality midfielder to the squad during the January transfer window

Liverpool are easily one of the very best sides in the world – but they have had a start to the season that many did not expect and currently sit ninth down in the Premier League – yes NINTH

That has led to all sorts of speculation in the media that Liverpool will look to delve into that transfer kitty in the January window and add a few players to the side that will get them back in the hunt to win that Premier League and Champions League titles

Liverpool have struggled in the midfield area this season after injuries to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara, and Jordan Henderson – and now Kevin Campbell has opened up and claimed that LiverpoolFc will look to add a quality midfielder to the squad in January

What has Kevin Cambell said?

Campbell told Football Insider: “Liverpool fans are going on about a central midfielder.

“They can spend the money wherever they like, but if the team aren’t playing well then it won’t matter.

“The players have to up their game. They’ve dropped maybe 2% a player, so they need to put that right.

“Central midfield is one area where they need quality. It’s the place where Liverpool fans are calling for reinforcements.”

We have said it before, and we will say it again – Liverpool need to add some more quality to that side and adding a couple of signings will boost the club – it has in the past and it will again for the rest of the season
