Liverpool register interest in Thiago, Klopp told £70 million target will be sold, Liverpool urged to sign up Coutinho
Liverpool told to sign Coutinho, Koulibaly will get sold, Thiago interest shown in Liverpool news roundup..
Liverpool fans would welcome Philippe Coutinho back to the club with open arms, says former star Emile Heskey.
The 27-year-old left the Reds for Barcelona in a £142million deal in January 2018 and the manner of his departure upset many supporters at Anfield, but there has been much speculation in the media that he could make a sensational return back to the Premier League as his stay in La Liga has not been the best.
Liverpool have gone on to thrive in his absence, winning the Champions League last season and storming to the Premier League title this term, but there has been some speculation in the media suggesting that they may make a move to try and acquire his services at the end of the season.
Now Heskey feels that Coutinho could still offer plenty to a side that has lacked a creative No.10 in his absence, and fans would welcome him back with open arms.
“What he did when he was with the Reds was phenomenal,” former Liverpool striker Heskey told Sky Sports. “He’s a phenomenal player and everything good Liverpool did at that time went through him
“So I think he would be welcomed back with open arms at Liverpool and the fans would absolutely love to have him back – but are you getting that same player back?
“Generally you don’t but ask any Liverpool fan, they would love to have Coutinho back and that wizard playing in the midfield there.”
Liverpool have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara in the summer window.
Regarded as one of the finest teams in Europe right now with some of the best attackers in the game, there isnt much that Jurgen Klopp needs to improve on in the summer transfer window.
But there has been some speculation in the media which has suggested that the Reds will be looking to add another top-class defender to the side, and maybe add another attacker to the squad.
Now German publication Bild claim Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of the 29-year-old midfielder, who has won seven consecutive Bundesliga titles at the Allianz Arena since arriving in Munich in July 2013.
The German media outlet further claim that the former Barcelona man is seriously considering his options after no breakthrough regarding a new contract thus far, despite two months of negotiations.
Bayern do not want to let the player leave the club, but with all the speculation linking them with a move for Kai Havertz, they would be open to the idea of selling Thiago if the right offer arrived.
Speaking back in February 2019, Klopp lavished praise on the Spanish ace after Bayern held Liverpool to a goalless draw in a Champions League clash at Anfield.
“I’ve probably never seen them defend like that,’ the German told Sky Sports.
“Respect to them as they made it difficult for us, although we had good situations where we missed the last touch.
“Thiago is a world-class footballer. He played that deep-lying playmaker role very well. Alongside [Javi] Martinez, they were very good.”
Duncan Castles has told the likes of Liverpool that Kalidou Koulibaly will be sold during the summer transfer window.
There have been some reports in the media suggesting that Liverpool are planning for more potential new signings in this coming transfer window, as they seek to continue improving this side.
It will mean that Jurgen Kloppwill be able to spend a big more money and add some more quality, and experience to his squad, and one name that is on the shopping list of the Liverpool boss is that of Kouliably, who is easily regarded as one of the finest central defenders in Seria A, and around Europe.
Koulibaly has been outstanding for Napoli over the past few seasons and his performances has attracted all sorts of interest from the games biggest clubs, with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and even Barcelona all joining Chelsea in the chase for the defenders signature.
Napoli do not want to lose their big man, but know the interest is too strong to turn down, and with the coronavirus hitting clubs hard, it means that their big players will come into the market.
Now, amid the speculation, Castles has opened up told the likes of Liverpool that Koulibaly will be sold during the summer transfer window
Duncan Castles said on the SUN: “Gattuso has been told Koulibaly WILL be sold this summer.
“Koulibaly himself is open to that and is ready for a change of environment. He’s keen to move to the Premier League.
“Talk from Napoli is they could be looking at around £70m now for Koulibaly.”
Reports have claimed Liverpool have made offers to sign the big man, but if they managed to secure a transfer deal for Koulibaly, surely they would have the best defence in the game?
