Liverpool interested in £130m goal machine, Thiago agrees personal terms and Dortmund expected Sancho to make Liverpool move
Thiago agrees personal terms, Liverpool interested in Haaland, Dortmund expected Sancho to make Reds move in Liverpool roundup…
Jan Aage Fjortfoft has revealed Borussia Dortmund bosses expected Jadon Sancho to join Liverpool!
The England winger has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, with latest reports claiming the Red Devils have made a ‘breathrough’ in a possible deal.
It is claimed that Sancho has already agreed personal terms with United and all the Premier League giants have to do is meet that massive £100 million asking price that Dortmund are currently seeking.
But Sancho was also linked with a move to Anfield before the coronavirus hit, and chiefs at his current club believed he would end up working under Jurgen Klopp rather than making the move to Old Trafford.
The former Premier League player-turned-pundit said on Empire of the Kop: “What I have said is that insiders in Dortmund thought that Sancho would end up at Liverpool.
“They knew of course that the CEO of Dortmund, Watzke, and Klopp, are great friends. Of course, Klopp loves the player, but which manager wouldn’t?
“If he would prefer Liverpool or Manchester United? I have no clue!”
Liverpool are reportedly ‘paying special attention’ to Borussia Dortmund and are keeping a close eye on Erling Haaland.
Haaland became one of the hottest properties in European football at Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the season, and The 19-year-old hit 28 goals in 22 matches across all competitions for the Austrian outfit.
That earned him a mega money move to Dortmund, where he has scored 16 goals in his first 18 outings for the German side, with his performances or the club firmly establishing him as one of the best in the game right now.
He has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United, but according to former Premier League player-turned-pundit Jan Aage Fjortfoft, Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the big lad.
He claimed Liverpool are actively scouting the German club, with two players particularly in their focus: “I think they are paying special attention to Dortmund,” said Fjortfoft on the SUN website
“The American Gio Reyna and, of course, Erling Haaland.
“And then there is Alphonso Davies at Bayern, but he is obviously unattainable.”
Thiago Alcantara has reportedly agreed terms with Liverpool ahead of his imminent arrival from Bayern Munich.
After news broke just a few weeks ago revealing that Thiago now wants to leave Bayern this transfer window and make that move to the Premier League, Liverpool have been made favourites to wrap up a transfer deal.
Bayern are reportedly holding out for a €30 million (£27m/$36m) fee for a prized asset this summer, a fee that Liverpool are more than willing to pay for the talented and gifted maestro.
Now according to Sport Bild he has agreed a three-year Anfield contract with Liverpool and will make his way to the Premier League in the coming days to complete his medical.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville Neville recently claimed the Reds needed to make ‘that one signing’ that will fend off the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United this season.
“Liverpool have been brilliant for two years, but I think it’s hard to win back to back titles,” Neville said, per HITC.
“Liverpool could do it, they’re an exceptional team, and if they are to sign Thiago it would make them very strong again. But I do think they need that one signing.
“They need that stimulus for the squad, who have been together for a couple of years.
“I think City will be the strongest team again this year, as I think they’ll be revitalised under Pep Guardiola.”
Look, Liverpool do need to do some business as they need to freshen up the squad ahead of the new season, so they need to sign Thiago, he would bring something different to the side.
Yes they won the Champions League and then the Premier League, but the club will be pushed harder this season and Klopp needs to start getting some business done.
So if reports are true, this is a great deal by the club.
