Fans welcome new signing after Liverpool agree summer deal for big Spaniard Adrien

Liverpool have confirmed that stopper Adrien has agreed to make a shock summer move to Anfield.

Liverpool may be getting ready for the new Premier League season after a very inactive transfer market, but fans will be welcoming their new arrival.

The Spanish stopper began his career with Real Betis, before moving to the Premier League with West Ham in 2013.

He made a total of 150 appearances for West Ham, but lost his starting place to Lukasz Fabianski last season and was subsequently released by the London club.

And despite numerous clubs showing an interest, he was unable to make any move and Jurgen Klopp decided to take him to Anfield on a short-term deal as back-up for Alisson and Simon Mignolet.

And despite knowing that his game time will be limited at Anfield, Adrien has admitted his delight at signing with Liverpool.

“I’m feeling really happy; really happy to be here and to work in this great club and start doing my stuff on the pitch as soon as possible,” Adrian told

“I’m very ambitious, I come here to try to win everything, to try to push Ali from the first minute and to make us better.

“Obviously I want to win titles. I come here to fight for all the competitions. We have many competitions ahead – we’re going to fight for it and try to get them.”

Liverpool expected a much more busier transfer market than the one that Klopp has talent them through this season, but adding an experience stopper like Adrien is a very smart move from the Liverpool boss.

He may have been brought in to add some back-up, but if Mignolet and ALisson picked up an injury or two then Liverpool would have to play a youngster that is not ready, so at least they will have some more cover.

And many fans will still welcome the man
