Sorry Arsenal as Klopp told £40 million Soyuncu would fit in at Liverpool ahead of possible deal
Caglar Soyuncu has been backed to make a summer transfer from Leicester City to Liverpool by the man who made the same switch back in 2000.
Liverpool are still hoping that they will be able to finish the Premier League season and become Champions of England once again, but there has been alot of reports over the past few days that they are seeking to sign up Arsenal target Soyuncu.
Arsenal have been eyeing up a deal for Soyuncu for the last few seasons, and now that they have Mikel Arteta in charge, there was a feeling that Arsenal could make a £40 million offer in the summer.
But with Liverpool being linked with the Turkish centre-back, Emile Heskey told GentingBet that he would fit in very well at Anfield if he decided to make the summer move.
He said: “Soyuncu would fit in well at any club. He’s taken the role of centre back at Leicester, which was a very important role, following the footsteps of Wes Morgan and Johnny Evans, and no one knew what to expect of him.
“But he’s taken it by the scruff of the neck and he’s really improved and given something extra as well as he’s good on the ball.
“I don’t see him going anywhere, even Liverpool, as Leicester don’t need to sell unless they want to and they don’t have a ready-made player to fall into his spot.
“However, if Leicester did want to sell, Soyuncu could go to any of the top clubs.”
Van Dijk needs a partner at the back next season as he will not be able to do everything himself, especially as the other top teams will be looking to improve in order to catch the Reds.
Soyuncu has proven that he is more than capable of handling himself in the Premier League, and for the right money, yes he would be a very good signing.
However, Leicester will not want to let him leave and will surely do all they can to make sure that he stays at the club.
