Sorry Liverpool, oooh Well Tottenham as £70m striker Chiesa wants to sign for Sarri’s Chelsea

Highly-prised Fiorentina striker Federico Chiesa reportedly wants to sign for Chelsea, despite interest from both Tottenham and Liverpool.

Chiesa has fast become one of the most sought after young strikers in world football after impressing for Fiorentina this season with an impressive eleven goals and eight assists in 29 appearances for the Seria A giants.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is looking to add another striker to the attack as they simply cannot rely on Harry Kane every week, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp knows he must add strength in depth to the squad if he wants to challenge for more than just a Premier League title next season.

But according to reports on the Sun website, the £70 million rated striker is keen to make the switch to Premier League giants Chelsea and work under boss Maurizio Sarri, who plays the kind of football that most young players would like.

However, the reports go on the say that the impeding transfer ban that Chelsea are facing this coming transfer window may scupper any possible deal, meaning the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool could still swoop in and try to seal a deal if possible.

Here is what we think on the Chiesa news.

Chiesa is a brilliant young striker that does indeed have all the qualities to develop into one of the best strikers in the game, so the news that he wanted to sign for Chelsea will come as a huge blow to the Blues, as they would have completed a deal in the summer if they were able too.

But Chelsea may keep a very close eye on the development of the 21-year old as he could the clubs answer to their goal-scoring problems in the coming seasons., especially as strikers done normally hit their peak until the age of around 25-26.
