LIVERPOOL, KLOPP

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –

Wolves midfielder and Long-term LIVERPOOL target Ruben Neves has admitted he wants to play Champions League football.

Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the game right now and have so many world class players – but they will probably end the season without Champions League football after a very disappointing year.

That will mean that Jurgen Klopp will need to improve the squad at the end of the campaign and sign players that will improve the side – with Neves a man that is reportedly on the shopping lost.

The 26-year-old has been tipped to leave Wolves for the last few transfer windows – but has stayed loyal to Wolves in hope that they could progress in the Premier League.

But even though he says no decision has been made on his future, he embraced all of his team-mates and clapped the fans after coming off late in Wolves 1-1 draw with Everton and has now admitted that he wants Champions League football

He said: “Let’s see what’s going to happen. I always say the same thing – I truly love to be here, but I never hide that I want to play Champions League football and that’s a hard decision to make because I feel at home here, for me and my family.

“But in football, you need to go for your main goals and I think that will be a massive decision for me.

“But nothing has happened yet. If it was my last game here, I really enjoyed it and I’m grateful for all the people who worked with me over the six seasons.”

Neves has a year left on his contract and has also been linked with Barcelona.

MAC ALLISTER AGREEMENT RECAHED –

LIVERPOOL have reached an agreement to sign Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister this summer, according to reports in Argentina.

There are still a few weeks left of the season to play out and Liverpool are still hoping to get back into those Champions League places in a bid to save their season.

But the transfer window will give Liverpool the chance to sign a few players that will freshen up the side, and Mac Allister is a man that is on the shopping list of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Now – According to TyC Sports, Liverpool have now finalised a deal to sign Mac Allister from Brighton at the end of the season.

The report claims that Liverpool will pay Brighton in the region of £70 million for the World Cup winner.

amid all the speculation and rumours – Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has opened up and revealed that he is expecting to lose some players when the summer window opens up in a few months time.

Speaking to Sky Sports after Brighton’s stunning 3-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates last week, head coach De Zerbi said: “For sure, we will lose some players.

“Maybe Caicedo, maybe Mac Allister. We have to be ready to bring in other good players.

“For the likes of Kaoru Mitoma and Pervis Estupinan, I think for them the best solution is to stay with us. I don’t know if they are ready to play in the big teams yet. We can offer them the opportunity to progress and improve.”

Despite their poor season – LIVERPOOL are still one of the best sides in the world and adding a few players to the squad in the summer will reignite their quest to win more trophies.

Mac Allister is a man that is ready for that next step in his career and Liverpool will be a big move.

TIMBER CLAIM MADE –

Ajax defender and LIVERPOOL target Jurrien Timber has confirmed he has received plenty of interest regarding a summer transfer

Timber is a man that has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the last 12 months – with suggestions that Newcastle and Liverpool are ready to battle Manchester United for his services.

Timber has appeared in over 40 matches for Ajax this season where he scored one goal and provided two assists, and it is believed that a few of £40 million would be enough to get a transfer deal done.

Speaking to Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad, he said: ‘I met him here at De Toekomst [Ajax’s training ground] and then we spoke briefly and one-on-one.

‘He spoke longer with my agent. As far as I know, Ajax wants to keep me here.

‘Other than that, it is difficult for me to say anything about it. Conversations about this will follow soon.’

On the rumoured battle to sign him among some of Europe’s biggest clubs, Timber continued: ‘I’m now in the same situation as last year.

‘I don’t know yet if I’m going to make that step now. I’m glad I’m at Ajax. You can always show yourself here.

‘It’s not like I’m gone if we don’t play the Champions League. Ajax remains Ajax.

‘What I look at: if I leave, is the whole picture correct? I also know how important the coach and the guys around you are.

‘I assume that next season will be better. With or without me, Ajax usually gets it back on track.

‘I understand the guys who think: if a top club comes, I will go. It is also difficult to say no. Only, I don’t have that at all.

‘In my case everything is still open. Quite a lot is happening in the background in terms of interest. I will soon see what the concrete options are.’
