Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –

Liverpool are reportedly in the fight to sign Benfica midfielder Joao Neves, but they will have to pay some big money to get a deal done.

Arne slot will bring new tactics, a new way of doing things and will probably need the backing of the board to sign some players that will freshen up the side, and probably replace some big names that could leave the club.

Joao Neves is a player that the likes of Liverpool have been linked with in recent weeks – although his massive asking price may become an issue for some chasing clubs in the summer.

But that has not stopped all the speculation that he is a player that LIVERPOOL would love to sign – especially as many believe he has the ability to develop into one of the very best defenders in world football.

But the Premier League giants will have to pay his €100million (£85.7m) release clause to win the race, as The Athletic say that Benfica are adamant that Neves, 19, won’t be sold for less.

He’s set to be included in Portugal’s squad for Euro 2024

Spending £87 million on a talent like Neves is mad – he has alot to prove and many fans would much prefer the club spend that kind of money on a world class player that can make an immediate impact.

The transfer is a few months away – but  LIVERPOOL need to make sure they sign quality over quantity as they will need to bring in players that could make an immediate impact on the side.

Neves is a very talented – but he is not really the type of player that would get the likes of Man City and Arsenal worried for next season.

It has been revealed that Alisson Becker has rejected a big money transfer to Saudi Arabia as he wants to stay at Liverpool.

Alisson is regarded as one of the finest stoppers in world football and a man that Jurgen Klopp very rarely drops from the squad – he is that important to the side.

However – there has been some stunning reports emerge which have claimed that he may be the next man to leave LIVERPOOL for the money that is being offered in Saudi Arabia.

Team-mate Mohamed Salah remains a target for Saudi giants Al-Ittihad, who’d also be willing to bid for Brazil No.1 Alisson – as the Egyptian star is heavily tipped to depart Anfield at some point this transfer window.

The 32-year-old is under contract until 2027 and recent reports have claimed that he is actually open to the idea of packing his bags and making the money move to Saudi Arabia – where he is certain to get some crazy money.

However – a latest report by Football Insider has indicated the Brazilian has rejected a “massive” offer from Al-Nassr, who have now seemingly turned their attention to ex-Arsenal star Wojciech Szczesny.

There are not too many people out there that wouldnt have Alisson in their squad, the man is one of the best in the game. He is a leader, a shot stopper and a commanding presence in that Liverpool side.

We cannot see the board allowing that Brazilian to depart the club this transfer window – he is tied down to a massive contract – and only a crazy offer will convince LIVERPOOL to get a deal done.

Of course Alisson will be interested in a move to Saudi Arabia – the chance to make some serious money – the chance to experience a different culture and the chance to join a trend of top players move there – anybody would.

However – we simply cannot see this happening –

Bayer Leverkusen star and Liverpool target Jeremie Frimpong is leaning towards leaving the club this summer,

LIVERPOOL are under new management as Arne Slot left his post at Feyenoord and made the move to Merseyside to replace departing boss Jurgen Klopp.

Arne slot will bring new tactics, a new way of doing things and will probably need the backing of the board to sign some players that will freshen up the side, and probably replace some big names that could leave the club.

Frimpong has starred in Leverkusen’s staggering unbeaten campaign, contributing 14 goals and 12 assists across all competitions from the right flank. The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past – and the rumours are set to ramp up again now.

Frimpong is under contract with Leverkusen until June 2028, but reportedly has a £35million release clause. That has caught the attention of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal and LIVERPOOL.

And if you believe the reports on Bild. Frimpong is leaning towards leaving the club this summer and making that step up in the game knowing that Leverkusen may never have a season like they have just had.

The fact that Frimpong has been so brilliant for Leverkusen this season will mean there will be quite a few clubs interested in a move – especially for that bargain price of £35 million.

But if he is keen to leave Bayer – then he needs to make sure that he joins a club that will allow him to have the game time that he has been achieving at the moment – of he could see his football career start to head in the wrong direction.
