Liverpool target wants future sorted – Reds target makes summer decision – Diaz father makes admission

LIVERPOOL, KLOPP

Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news and gossip tat we think you guys may have missed –

Bayern Munich expect Liverpool target Xabi Alonso to stay at Bayer Leverkusen next season despite their interest in appointing him as Thomas Tuchel’s successor.

Alonso has been heavily linked with a return to Liverpool this summer to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield after the German boss admitted that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

He has also been linked with a move to Bayern Munich – as they have been impressed with the Spaniard and are desperate to add a fresh, young manager to replace the departing Tuchel.

Alonso is regarded as one of the finest young managers in the game and is doing a tremendous job over at Bayer Leverkusen – who have the chance to upset the odds and win that Bundesliga title over Bayern Munich.

Alonso is set to lead Leverkusen to their first Bundesliga title but honorary president Uni Hoeness fully expects the Spaniard to stay at the Bundesliga giants this summer.

“I feel that it will be very difficult to sign Xabi Alonso, not to say probably impossible,” honorary president Uni Hoeness told German broadcasterARD.

“I can certainly imagine him staying at Bayer Leverkusen to continue his job.

“[He] is more inclined to stay in view of their current successes because he would not want to leave them behind.”

Look, Alonso would be coming into the hardest League, taking over one of the biggest clubs and replacing a manager that is regarded as one the best in world football, it may be an opportunity that he decides to ignore.

He does not need to leave Bayer just yet and there will be plenty of time to take over at LIVERPOOL – at the end of the day – you dont want to be the man that replaces Klopp and fails.

And he would be hated if he made the move to Bayern

DIAZ CLAIM MADE –

Luis Diaz’s father has admitted the Liverpool winger hasn’t given up hope over a move to Spain, according to the Daily Mail.

Diaz was signed by LIVERPOOL just a couple of windows ago in a deal that almost helped the Reds win all the trophies they had a chance to claiming.

He has brought pace – quality and an ability to entertain on a weekly basis to the side – something that has been missing because of his injuries this season.

But whilst recognizing he is currently perfectly happy at Anfield; Diaz did admit that he has ambitions of moving to LaLiga at some point in his career.

Referring to rumoured moves from Atletico and Real Madrid when he signed for Liverpool in 2022, Mane Diaz told Spanish outlet Cadena Ser: “We haven’t lost our hope yet. Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market.”

Now look – Diaz has to be careful about what words he uses to the media as they can be twisted. But he also needs to make sure that he doesn’t start transfers speculation that does not need to be there.

He is a big player for LIVERPOOL and may have dreams to make a move to Spanish football – but it is something that he does not need to admit now.

However – now that Jurgen Klopp is leaving the club – and many of the big stars are there because of the German – there could be chances for clubs to steal some of Liverpool’s best players in the next couple of windows.

NAGELSMANN WANTS FUTURE SORTED –

Julian Nagelsmann wants his long-term future sorted out before the European Championships, with reports that Liverpool are interested in the German.

Klopp is currently the longest serving manager at a single club in the English football pyramid, delivering six major trophies since his arrival.

Most notably, the 56-year-old ended a 30-year wait for the Premier League title in 2020 and guided Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2019, but he made the decision to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old Nagelsmann has been among the candidates linked to LIVERPOOL as a potential Jurgen Klopp replacement, and would be under consideration if Manchester United decided to part company with Erik ten Hag.

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has also refused to rule out a return to the club for Nagelsmann, however the German Football Federation have been working hard to secure his stay with the national team.

Nagelsmann was appointed Germany head coach last September on a contract that expires after this summer’s Euros.

Following Germany’s impressive 2-0 victory over France, DFB president Bernd Neuendorf told ZDF: “It would be absolutely desirable from our side. We’re a good team, we get on well, we’re in intensive dialogue.

“The coach’s wish to create clarity before the European Championship has now been clearly stated. I have already said that we will not ignore this wish.”

“No, this is a completely normal process. I think we will now seek discussions as soon as possible after the two international matches.”

Nagelsmann had revealed earlier this month if he had “a contract offer before the European Championship that I am happy with and where I say I feel comfortable and where I see myself, then there is a high probability that I will sign it before the European Championship.”
