Liverpool to offer £77 million in bid to get La Liga transfer deal done

Liverpool are reportedly ready to offer Real Madrid £77 million in order to sign Federico Valverde

The summer window is officially open and that means LIVERPOOL will have ample opportunity to sign players that will help them close the gap on Manchester City next season.

Valverde has been tentatively linked with a move to Liverpool, among other clubs, as Los Blancos continue to strengthen their squad with new signings.

Jude Bellingham marks another high-profile midfield signing, following on from Aurelien Tchouameni’s arrival last year, adding increased competition for places. And that has led to some rumours that Valverde could be sold this summer.

With Bellingham on board at Santiago Bernabeu, there have been suggestions that Valverde may be allowed to move on as he faces added competition for places.

Liverpool are now reportedly preparing to submit a new proposal of around £77m according to Catalan outlet El Nacional

However – the reports adds that Madrid have no intention is letting the star leave.

The 24-year-old has recently admitted that he has no plans to leave Madrid – he told ESPN Argentina: “No, no… I’m in Madrid trying to enjoy every moment and leave my mark on the best club in the world.

‘I want to continue winning titles for the madridistas.”

Joe Cole claimed in the season that Valverde is just as new signing Bellingham: “He’s standing right at the top of the tree with Bellingham in the young players, and he’s on the verge of becoming the best,” he said on BT Sport (via the Daily Mail).

“He’s box-to-box, he scores goals, he’s a technician, he was the unsung hero in the final, I thought he was outstanding against Liverpool.”

The arrival of Bellingham to Madrid will mean that game time for Valverde will be harder to come by – but at the end of the day – the Englishman has to get used to playing for one of the biggest sides in the game – Valverde has already done it.

It will be interesting to see what happens if LIVERPOOL actually make another offer for the player
