LIVERPOOL have been encouraged to raid Napoli at the end of the season and try to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a possible replacement for Mohamed Salah, who looks set to leave Anfield in the summer when his current contract at the club expires.

Kvaratskhelia is a player that all the big clubs have been linked with over the past few seasons and is a man that has been heavily tipped to leave Napoli in the next few windows if his £87 million asking price is met.

Chelsea were heavily linked with the player during the summer window, but in the end, the attacker made the decision to stay put and wait for the right club to come in and make that next step up with.

What Is The Latest?

Salah is one of the best players in world football and a man that is one of the greatest stars in the history of Liverpool, but as he comes towards the end of his playing days, his contract is running down and he is likely to leave.

There has been alot of players linked with a move to Anfield, but now pundit Danny Murphy has encouraged the Reds to make a move for Kvaratskhelia – Speaking to Boylesports, who offer the latest Champions League odds, Danny Murphy said: “On potential Mohamed Salah replacements, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is a really good player, similar to Luis Diaz or Cody Gakpo in running with the ball with his athleticism and his ability to make things happen, but he’s not prolific.

‘He’s not a goal threat for entire games. I’ve seen him play live a couple of times, I was at the Euros, I’ve watched him a lot. He’s a terrific talent, but he’s similar to what Liverpool have got in some respects.’

Kvaratskhelia is a quality player, but as Murphy said, he is not prolific and would struggle to get 15-20 goal a season in the Premier League, but he would still be a quality signing for LIVERPOOL if they do decide to make a move for the player.

MBEUMO PRICE SET

Brentford have slapped an asking price of £60m on Bryan Mbeumo as he continues to be linked with Liverpool as a possible replacement for Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who is out of contract at the Reds at the end of the season.

Salah has been one of the best players in the Premier League for quite some time now and one of the best finishers that Liverpool fans have seen in recent times.

He managed 24-goals for LIVERPOOL last season, but this season he has started the campaign in great fashion and giving everything he possibly can for the Reds in what seems to be his final season at the club.

Salah is one of three key players into the last year of his contract at Anfield alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold and manager Arne Slot has admitted the trio “could become a problem” for the Reds.

Salah has been linked with a move to the Middle East in the last year and has one year remaining on his Reds contract. As it stands, he will be free to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

What is the Lates?

Only Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has more goals than Mbeumo so far this season and reports say his form has caught the eye of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Given the growing interest in Mbeumo, Brentford are planning to tie him down until the summer of 2027 but are reportedly open to selling if a club makes an offer in the region of £60m According to Football Insider,

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has recently tipped Mbeumo to join a ‘bigger club’ at some stage: ‘He’s added another layer this year,’ he said earlier in the season. ‘I’m convinced one day he’ll play for a bigger club.

‘I’d definitely buy him if I were at a bigger club. That said, he’s very happy here.’

Salah signed a new LIVERPOOL contract just last summer (2022), keeping him at the club until June 2025 and netting him a reported wage of £350,000-a-week, but there has been some talk that a stunning transfer move could happen.

Salah has already revealed that he may not be signing a new contract with Liverpool, which means the Reds are already lining up a number of possible replacements for the world class winger, and One name who has been mentioned as a possible candidate capable of filling this void is Vinicius, whose current contract is set to expire next summer.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

After a brilliant season for Real Madrid last season in which he helped the Spaniards to another League title and another Champions League crown – Vinicius had expected to lift the gong, but Man City’s Rodri edged him out, leading to a furious reaction from the forward and Real.

Per a report from AS, the 24-year-old’s entourage are studying options for the future as they feel a number of circumstances are not quite right for the attacker at his current club.

Not only does the Brazilian winger feel unprotected by the referees, but has also had to deal with countless episodes of racial abuse over the years. That, coupled with the Ballon d’Or snub and interest from Saudi Arabia and the Premier League, could see Vinicius seek greener pastures, with his Real Madrid contract expiring in 2027.

What Has Been Said:

Speaking to Boylesports, who offer the latest Champions League odds Danny Murphy went on to admit that Liverpool would have to pay a fortune for Vinicius given his current status at Real, but also appeared to suggest a fall-out with club management could make it easier for the Reds to pursue a deal.

“So you have to try and find these diamonds in the rough,” he said. “You have to remember when Salah came, there were a few question marks. When Sadio Mane came, people questioned if LIVERPOOL had overpaid Southampton and look what he went on to do. So it might be a case of Liverpool going and finding another one of these diamonds in the rough that can evolve into a goal-scoring right winger.

“But it’s very hard to find wide players who have better goal-scoring records than one in three. Salah has the goal-scoring record of a striker, of a proper striker. It’s incredible numbers that he produces.

‘Replacing that is either, it’s going to be a brilliant recruitment or it’s going to break the bank, one or the other. Let’s just hope Vini Jr falls out with Real Madrid and fancies joining Liverpool.”
