Liverpool board encouraged to bring striker to Anfield this summer!

Michael Owen has urged Liverpool to look for Mohamed Salah’s replacement this summer, even if he stays at the club.

Salah has had a decent season for the club this season and broke the 20 goal barrier for Liverpool once again – but there has been alot of speculation and rumours about his future at Anfield.

It is no secret that a move to Saudi Arabia has been mooted for the Egyptian star – who almost left last season – and many would be shocked if the decision was made and he stayed for another season at Anfield.

However – even if he stays at the club – former star Owen has opened up and suggested that Liverpool need to sign a new striker in the summer: “No, I don’t think Liverpool would win the league if they had me in my prime instead of Nunez. For starters, I don’t know where I would play in these new positions, as either a central player or one of the wider players, it’s hard to know,” he said via BoyleSports.

“Nunez gives LIVERPOOL so much, we judge him on his finishing which has room for improvement but other parts of his game are very good. Liverpool have been blessed in recent years with incredible players, going back to Suarez, Torres, Sturridge, Sterling, Mane, Firmino, Salah of course, you just hope that great tradition continues.

“Whether Salah stays or not, he’s in his 30s now, he’s not going to be there forever and Liverpool are going to have to find someone at some point to go and get those goals again.”

There has been so much speculation in the media – but we would be shocked to see Salah stay at the club in the summer. And if LIVERPOOL do sign a striker – it will be very interesting to see just who they manage to bring in.
