Liverpool told to get transfer deal done for world class Spaniard

Jose Enrique has urged LIVERPOOL to consider selling Thiago Alcantara if a reasonable offer comes in.

A hip injury ruled Thiago out for most of last season, with Jurgen Klopp not able to start him since the 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in February.

The Spaniard’s frustrating campaign epitomized Liverpool’s mood overall as he struggled to make an impact in 2022-23, and there is a feeling that he could be sold this summer.

A report last month claimed Thiago is wanted by former club Barcelona, where he emerged as a youngster over a decade ago.

Now – Ex-Liverpool defender Enrique has admitted he would sell the midfielder if the price were right, highlighting his injury record.

“I love him as a player,” he told his Instagram followers.

“But I believe if an offer comes in for him, we (Liverpool) should take it.

“He is a top player but, most of the time, he is injured. We need more reliable players.”

Thiago is a world class player that is just not Premier League material – his body cant handle it.

If a right offer does arrive then maybe Klopp will be open to selling – but Thiago would defintely be interested in making a move back to Barcelona and establoshing himself in that squad.

It is a shame to see that he has not hit the heights that many had hoped for – but if LIVERPOOL do decide to keep him this summer – he needs to stay fit so he can shine in the centre of that midfield.

As we said – he is one of the best midfielders in the game
