Klopp has Pulisic message, Rodgers announces he cant stop £80m man from leaving

Here is the latest Liverpool and Manchester United news from icfootballnews.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has praised Chelsea for their decision to sign American International Christian Pulisic.

Chelsea managed to beat off some of the games biggest clubs to secure a deal for the winger last January, as they sought a long-term replacement for the now departed Eden Hazard and the American is seen as a potential successor to the Belgian.

But despite having a decent pre-season for Chelsea, Pulisic has so far failed to hit the dizzy heights that he enjoyed over in the Bundesliga and there are already questions about whether or not he has the ability to be a real success at Chelsea.

But Klopp is confident that the United States international will make an impact at Chelsea, as the German knows the lads potential from his days at Borussia Dortmund.

Asked how will he get on in the Premier League, Klopp replied: ‘Unfortunately, good. ‘He will be a proper player, he is and he will be, a big talent.

‘Dynamic, pretty good with both feet, super-exciting player. ‘A good signing, I have to say.’

Pulisic has just moved to the Premier League and needs time to adjust to the pace and quality that the English game has to offer, and he also has to deal with the fact that he needs to get used to a different culture to the one he enjoyed over in Germany.

Leicester Boss Brendan Rodgers has claimed a move to Manchester United ‘would be too hard to turn down’ for James Maddison.

Maddison has been making all the right noises in the Premier League over the past few seasons and his performances have led to a lot of transfer speculation that the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham were interested in a summer transfer deal.

However, both were not willing to match the high asking price that Leicester had placed on the head of Maddison, which is believed to be around £60 million, and that meant that Maddison had to stay put for at least another season.

However, The playmaker has been in fine form for the Foxes at the beginning of this season and was one of their star men last year as well, and reports suggest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well as Woodward see Maddison as the perfect acquisition.

And Rodgers has admitted it would be tough to stop Maddison leaving for a big club like Liverpool or United, telling the Metro: ‘I’ve been fortunate that I’ve been at Liverpool where I understand the draw of that type of club,

‘Liverpool and Manchester United are two of the biggest clubs by far.

‘There’s other great clubs, there’s big clubs, but those two, in terms of worldwide status, are above the other clubs.

‘There are other great clubs that are trying to catch them up but those two, in my experience, are a level above.

‘So whenever a player gets an opportunity to go to a club like that, to experience that type of pressure, that expectation – and of course there’ll be a financial side to it as well, let’s be real – that as a package in a short career is maybe something that is too hard to turn down.

‘I understand it, I get it.’
