Liverpool icon opens door for Manchester United to FINALLY seal £108 million headline taking Sancho deal

Liverpool have no need to battle Manchester United for Jadon Sancho next summer window, says legend John Barnes.

Manchester United made the signing of Sancho the number one transfer target for the summer, but despite all the rumours, despite all the speculation and despite all the reports that he wanted a move to Old Trafford, a move never actually happened.

And after United failed to get a transfer deal done, It has been suggested that Liverpool may be tempted to join the chase if Dortmund open an exit door in future windows, but Barnes doubts that Klopp will consider spending £100 million on trying to get the star signed up..

The Reds legend told BonusCodeBets of the Sancho speculation: “I can’t see Sancho getting in ahead of Mane, Salah or [Roberto] Firmino, so for him to come he would have to fight for a place and not necessarily be in the team.

“I don’t think anyone from the front three will be replaced and seeing as they’ve just signed Jota and they have [Divock] Origi and [Xherdan] Shaqiri, it doesn’t make sense to get Sancho. I’d be very surprised if they get him.

“It’s good to get great players, but are Liverpool going to spend £100m on one player? I doubt it very much. I don’t think that’s one that will happen.”

If Barnes is right and Liverpool will not make the move for Sancho, it will be a massive boost to United’s chances of getting a transfer deal done, simply because it will mean that one less club is interested.

However, saying that, will Sancho want to join a United side that needs alot more money spent on it when he is enjoying his football over in the Bundesliga?
