OFFICIAL Chelsea statement released – powerful midfielder has completed five-year move

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has officially left CHELSEA to join AC Milan this summer window.

The midfielder has been part of the Blues set-up since he was a boy and leaves after making a total of 155 senior appearances for the club.

He was once tipped to be a real star for the Blues – but he was unable to live upto the hype that surrounded him as a kid – and although he has been a solid player – he has never quite made that starting spot his own at the club.

Loftus-Cheek signs a four-year deal at the Italian giants after spending 19 years at Stamford Bridge.

He’ll link up with former teammate Fikayo Tomori at the San Siro, a player who played a key role in convincing the 27-year-old to trade London for Milan.

A statement  from Chelsea said: “After 19 years as a Chelsea player, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has left the club and completed a permanent transfer to AC Milan.

“A dedicated professional and a friendly and popular person throughout Cobham, Loftus-Cheek departs having made 155 appearances – in which 13 goals were scored – and with Premier League, Europa League and UEFA Super Cup winner’s medals.

“We wish Ruben the very best as he begins this next chapter in his career.”

We have seen so many players over the seasons leave the Premier League and reignite their careers in the Spanish League, Bundesliga or Seria A – and this is a great move for Loftus-Cheek.

He will get to experience a different culture and quality of football at Milan – and the fact that they are one of the biggest clubs in the game – this is a great move for the man that is for sure.
