Blues boost! Much talked about Arsenal and Man United target Loftus-Cheek announces ‘no reason for me to leave Chelsea’

Ruben Loftus-Cheek refused to deny he is in talks over a new Chelsea contract.

Loftus-Cheek is regarded as one of the finest talents currently on the Chelsea books and is tipped to become a superstar for both the Blues and England.

The 23-year-old has scored nine goals this term despite having limited opportunities under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, who has preferred Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho for most of the game this season for Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek has two years to run on his Chelsea deal, but with the Blues facing a transfer ban, Chelsea are keen to tie the midfielder down to longer terms at Stamford Bridge and end all speculation that he could seek a way out of the club.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a possible move for Loftus-Cheek, with some reports suggesting both were readying a big summer offer to try and prise him away from the club, with the premise of more Premier League action.

But Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he is not even thinking about Chelsea, although he has no idea whether or not he is in talks over a new deal.

When asked if he is already in talks over a new deal, Loftus-Cheek grinned and said: “I’m not sure, I let my agent deal with it. I’m not thinking about that right now.
“It’s important for me to focus on the here and now, and I’m playing right now. It’s looking good so there’s no reason why I should think about leaving Chelsea.”

Loftus-Cheek has a lot to improve on and that will come with game time, so the news that Chelsea may not be able to sign anyone in the transfer window may come as a huge boost as he will get more game time next season.

Sarri must know what he is doing with the English midfielder and will eventually start him in the Premier League on a weekly basis. But for now Loftus-Cheek should sign a contract and fully commit to the Chelsea cause.

This could be his best opportunity to lay claim to a regular starting spot with the club.

However, if he does not get the opportunities that e wants or deserves, then he should then consider leaving the club on a permanent basis.
