Englishman officially tells Sarri he wants to be at Chelsea this summer, amid speculation!

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is set to reject the chance to join Schalke as he wants to fight for his place at Chelsea, the Englishman has decided.

The highly-talented 22-year old midfielder has made a real name for himself over the last 12 months and earned the chance to fight for his Chelsea future during the World Cup with England

His performances, along with his ability and pure confidence, showed a young man that is ready to step up and become an integral part of Maurizio Sarri’s starting eleven.

But there had been some speculation in the last few days that he could be sent out on loan for one more season, as the likes of Schalke were reportedly interested in taking on Loftus-Cheek for the next 12 months.

According to the Daily Telegraph however, Loftus-Cheek has decided to stay at Chelsea and is intent on convincing Sarri that he deserves a place in his midfield trio.

What we think.

Chelsea have a number of big stars that will not looking to lose their place to one of England’s most talented players, but the reality of it is, he is now ready to take his chance and be a big star at Stamford Bridge.

Not too many players actually get the chance to feature for the Blues after coming through the youth ranks, as the hierarchy prefer to spend big money and buy more experienced players, but Sarri would look to change that.

He has a habit of not spending too much money and giving the youngers players a chance in the first-team and may feel with Cesc Fabregas coming to the end of his career, Loftus-Cheek is an ideal long-term replacement.

And the fact the Englishman has rejected the chance to sign for Schalke and get regular game to fight, is a trait many managers in the game love to see.

Last season Loftus-Cheek spent time at Crystal Palace and showed he is capable of playing in the Premier League, and doing a pretty good job doing it, so why wouldn’t he now get his shot?
