£50m rated Brazilian Luiz announces he is in talks to sign deal with Chelsea
Brazilian defender David Luiz has admitted that he is in talks with Chelsea about a new contract and hopes to be at the club after the summer window.
Luiz has been an integral part of the Chelsea set-up this season under Maurizio Sarri and has looked very impressive at times for the Blues, but there has been constant speculation in the media that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season after failing to agree a new contract with the club.
Sarri was reportedly ready to spend big money in the transfer window and reinvent the side, with the Italian boss looking to acquire the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Alessio Romagnoli or even Tody Alderweireld, but those plans have been put on hold.
The Blues are facing a transfer ban will doe snot allow them to acquire any new players in the coming transfer windows, meaning the clubs hierarchy will now need to get their biggest players signed up to a new deal to have any hope of carrying on their success.
Asked by the Evening Standard if he will still be at Stamford Bridge next season, he replied: ‘I think so.
‘We are talking with the club. Everybody knows I love this club, I feel comfortable here and am happy here. I am doing my job very well so I think a lot is going to happen.
‘I have the best job in the world so I have to be motivated every single day. I love football, if I didn’t love football I would not be playing anymore
