Brazilian star David Luiz opens up and welcomes great Arsenal signing to Emirates
Arsenal defender David Luiz has been talking with his pals in Brazil over the arrival of Pablo Mari.
Arsenal ended months and months and months of speculation at the backend of the January transfer window by ordering the deal to bring Mari to the club, so that Arteta can help get this dodgy back-line sorted out.
Mari will hope to be in contention to make his debut when the Gunners play host to Newcastle after the winter break and the Spaniard took part in training for the first time earlier this week, after the Gunners players flew out to Dubai on last week.
And Luiz has opened up and admitted that he is delighted to see the defender arrive during the January transfer window, he told the sun:“He’s a great player. It was a pleasure for me seeing Pablo doing really well in Brazil. I hope he can help us.
“He did amazing under Jorge Jesus, a coach I know very well, he’s my friend and one of the top coaches in the world.
“I speak with Jorge every week, he’s really my friend. He told me to welcome him [Mari] in the best way because he is ready to play.”
Mari is coming into Arsenal with a massive reputation and many Gunners fans are actually very excited to see just how good this man is, but despite adding two new defenders to this Arsenal side, Arteta has his work cut out.
Just because the Gunners signeda few players does not mean that all the clubs issues will be sorted out in the next few months as Arteta will need time to get things right, but if he can get the best out of Mari between now and the summer, well it will have been a great big of business by the Spanish boss.
