Berbatov tells £70 million powerhouse he needs to be at Manchester United this summer

Romelu Lukaku has been urged to stay at Manchester United by former Red Devils striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Lukaku has struggled to maintain a starting berth in the United side under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with Marcus Rashford often preferred as the focal point of the United attack.

The big powerhouse striker looks nothing like the man that helped United finish second in the Premier League last season and has become a hinderance for the Red Devils, failing to score on a regular basis or even hold up the ball like he is supposed too.

And that has led to speculation in the media that he could be departing the club at this summer window, with the Likes of Inter Milan reportedly eyeing up a transfer deal.

But Berbatov says Lukaku should stay at Old Trafford and learn how to become a better striker from manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“I think he [Lukaku] should stay, I like him and I don’t agree with all the criticism he gets,” the Bulgarian told Sky Sports.

“He has some areas he needs to work on and I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the good coach for him, because if Lukaku needed to ask something [to] the coach, he can go ask him.

“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was a great striker so if you need striker advice, you should go to him.”
