£105 million powerhouse sends clear transfer message to Chelsea about possible summer transfer deal
Chelsea linked Romelu Lukaku has hinted that he wants to stay at Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
Despite being a relative flop in the Premier League during his time at Chelsea and Manchester United, Lukaku has gone on to become the most deadly striker in Seria A over the past few seasons and has netted an impressive 61-goals in just 92 appearances for the Italians.
Those kind of numbers has led to reports that Chelsea have targeted him as a player that could be their main man next season, with reports also suggesting that they are willing to pay his massive £105 million asking price.
However, amid all the speculation linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge, Lukaku has opened up and admitted that he is very proud to be an Inter player and hoped to continue with the Italian giants.
‘I am so happy for all the Inter fans in the world, for the team, the staff, the president and everyone,’ Lukaku told Sky Sport Italia after Atalanta failed to beat Sassuolo.
‘It was a wonderful year for us, I am truly proud to play for Inter
‘I wanted to come out here and celebrate along with the people. I told my friend this was the best way to experience it, to be there with the fans.
‘For me and many of my teammates, this is our first league title, so it’s a moment we wanted to share with them.’
Lukaku is a very happy man playing in a team that is hoping to get back into the habit of challenging for the big titles, so even though the Italian clubs are financially struggling, only a stunning offer should see the powerhouse leave the club in the summer
