Arsenal legend reacts to news brand new attacker on way in – ‘can be a quality signing’
ARSENAL legend Sol Campbell believes Noni Madueke can be a ‘quality’ addition to the squad, but is wondering whether or not Mikel Arteta actually needs to add another winger to the side with all the quality they have.
After missing out on that Premier League title once again last season, Mikel Arteta has got the backing from the board this transfer window and added players to the side that could really make a difference next season.
However – over the past few days it has been revealed that the Gunners are very keen to secure a transfer deal for Noni Maduake, who had a pretty good season for Chelsea last season, but is no longer wanted at the club with all the signings that have been made.
An agreement has now been struck, Fabrizio Romano reports, with Chelsea accepting ARSENAL’s offer which is in excess of £50million with add-ons included. Madueke will now sign a five-year deal to become the sixth player to swap Stamford Bridge for the Emirates during Mikel Arteta’s reign in north London.
‘I think most people are probably thinking, “Do we need him?”. He’s a quality player, but I think the club needs to explain why they’re getting certain players in and how it’s going to fit into our system.
‘It’s important to explain that to the players and the fans.’
IcFootballnews Says…
ARSENAL need to make sure that they can complete the signing of Maduake and add another striker to that attack, they do not need to sign another winger, adding a forward should be the priority.
This is a move that doesnt really make sense guys that is for sure.
