Sarri to do Arsenal dirty? Chelsea to make move and offer Frenchman Rabiot move to Stamford Bridge
Finance boffin Kieran Maguire has claimed Chelsea could look to hijack Arsenal’s possible move for Adrien Rabiot.
After months of talks about a possible new deal at PSG, Rabiot could not agree new terms over a new contract at the French giants and has asked to leave the club this month or at the end of the season, with Arsenal extremely interested in a deal.
Recent reports suggetsed Gunners boss Unai Emery was desperate to reignite with his former player and already had a deal in place to try and secure his services ahead of Juventus, Liverpool and now Chelsea.
However, Maguire has claimed a move to Stamford Bridge is a more viable venue for Rabiot, telling Starsport: “I think he’d be ideal for Arsenal.
“But they are struggling really.
“Chelsea is more of a potential venue as well.
“I can’t see [Manchester] United or [Manchester] City coming in for him.
“It’s a relatively small group of teams looking at that particular price level.”
Here is what we think.
Arsenal will be in need of adding to their midfield at the end of the season as Aaon Ramsey will be leaving the club and signing for Italian gianst Juventus, after he failed to agree a new contract at the Emirates.
So the news that Chelsea are now interested in bringing him to the Premier League will not be the best news in the media today, as the Blues have the financial power to offer Rabiot the kind of deal that they will be unable to match.
However, the fact that he knows Emery, respects the Spaniard and may indeed want to work under the Arsenal boss means that the Gunners have a good chance to securing this move, but only if they move quickly in the next transfer window.
