£60 million rated Premier League winger has huge transfer message for chasing Chelsea

Long-term Chelsea target Riyad Mahrez says he has no doubts about his ability and is “very happy” at Manchester City.

Mahrez signed for City a few transfer windows ago in a deal of excess of £60 million, but he has not had the kind of game time that he believed he would be achieving under Pep Guardiola and has looked a frustrated figure this season.

That had led to speculation that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was ready to dive in and quickly offer him a way out of City, with the Italian boss desperately keen to add some width and quality to his wings, especially as Eden Hazard looks all set to leave the club and sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

But as the transfer window looms, and Mahrez added another Premier League title to his collection, the winger has now claimed that he is very happy at City and has no intention of leaving the club.

“It is not easy to come to a team who are settled, who have players who play,” said Mahrez. “That squad did everything last season.

“I knew it would not be easy in my first year but I am very confident in myself and have no doubts about my quality. I knew that when I had my chance I would take it. I scored at Brighton and helped the team.

“I am very happy here. I am not going somewhere else because I don’t play. It’s part of the game. I need to be strong, stay strong. It’s part of my personality, I never hide away from things.”

It is no secret that Sarri needs to spend some money to add some width to the side, as he is simply lacking in top-class wingers and nailing down the services of a Proven Premier League star like Mahrez would have been a great bit of business by the Italian.

But the news that he is happy at City will come as no surprise and Sarri will now have to switch his attentions during the summer window, as he will need a replacement for Hazard.
