Italian great OFFICIALLY confirms Chelsea’s written offer to sign £127M man

Chelsea’s interest in attacker Rafael Leao has been confirmed by Milan chief Paolo Maldini,

After helping AC Milan win that Seria A title last season – Leao has become one of the most sought-after young attackers in the game – with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid also interested in a possible deal

He probably would have left Milan during the summer window – if they did not request that clubs meet his £127 million asking price before they do any business – but they now plan to keep hold of the lad

Although Rafael Leao has garnered significant interest from ChelseaFC, AC Milan are confident that they can tie down the player to a longer deal and have already begun negotiations

The 23-year-old was an instrumental figure in Milan’s 2021-22 Serie A success with 11 goals and eight assists – and although Maldini has confirmed that they want to keep the lad – he has also admitted that Chelsea are interested

What has he said?

“The renewal is an issue that we faced many months ago. Rafa knows that to become stronger than now the solution is to stay with us,” the Milan legend told Sport Mediaset.

“Chelsea’s officially written offer did not arrive but on an informal level it did. Of course, it was rejected.”

There are some players that are worth over £100 million – and there are some players are not

Leao is at that stage where he is not worth so much money – so therefore – his agent needs to get that asking price down or he will be going nowhere

But if ChelseaFC are keen on the lad – they need to make sure that they get him for the right price
