Big news from Spain after Manchester United target Varane tells Real Madrid ‘he wants to leave’
Reports have claimed that Manchester United target Raphael Varane has told Real Madrid he wants to leave the club.
United may have spent close to £1 billion on new players since Sir Alex Ferguson retired from Management, but this squad is seriously lacking in world class talent all over the pitch.
David De Gea is one of the best stoppers in the game, Harry Maguire is tipped to be a world class act, Bruno Fernandes carries this season, while the brilliant Marcus Rashford holds his own up-top, but beyond that, as we said, there is some serious lacking of quality in the side.
Maguire needs a new centre-back at the club that will add some pace to the side, and Varane has been one player that United have been trying to sign for the last few seasons, bt his high valuation has meant that a deal has been able to get done.
However, United have been boosted in their chase to finally get the Frenchman signed up after reports on Sport have claimed that the defender has told the club that he wants to leave.
The French defender has been with the Spanish giants since 2011, but is now looking to depart in search of a new adventure.
And the reports suggests with Varane’s contract expiring in 2022, Madrid will look to cash in rather than letting him walk free next year.
United tried to sign Varane way back in 2011 and since then, he has become a superstar in the game. So if the reports are true and United have a chance to sign him up, they should do it before the likes of PSG or Manchester City make moves
He would be a fantastic signing for United to make, even for that £100 million asking price that he may indeed go for
